On the terminal enter the command: sleep 3; xprop Upon executing that command, you have three seconds to mouse over the open office and cause a tooltip to appear. After three seconds, the mouse will turn to a cross/plus sign. Click on the tooltip. The terminal will now display the properties of the tooltip window. I get the following output (this is the entire output, only two lines): WM_TRANSIENT_FOR(WINDOW): window id # 0x3400013 _NET_WM_ALLOWED_ACTIONS(ATOM) = _NET_WM_ACTION_ABOVE, _NET_WM_ACTION_BELOW For comparison, a similar test executed on a firefox tooltip is 28 lines long and contains these two: _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE(ATOM) = _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_TOOLTIP WM_CLASS(STRING) = "Popup", "Firefox" Open office needs to have both of these attributes set. CLASS should be set to something like "Popup", "Oowriter", or "Popup", "Openoffice". Issue 83031 claims that this was fixed in CWS vcl87 and DEV300_m6, but I am running OOO300m9 and it is NOT fixed. This issue is not limited to tooltips. Open office drop down menus have a similar issue and should be set to type _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_DROPDOWN_MENU and contextual menus should be set to type _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_POPUP_MENU, but the xprop trick doesn't seem to work on menus. Open office should conform to the freedeskop standard for window properties. If i change the SQL Statement and set (") or (') as the first letter
in a row Openoffice OOODEV310_m4 crashes almost every time.
-open a new database
-open Tools/SQL
-copy the following SQL statemnet in the "Command to execute Box"
like it is

-change id in "id when you set the courser in front of id
and insert "id"
=> In 99% the crash manager will come after insert the first (")
-set the courser in front of id and use backwards Key to have a
statement like this

-if you now insert "id" it works so long as i try to do the same
with name. "name will crash OOo again.
In 3.0.1 it works allways well.

In order to place a holder of content on a certain location with a page these
tags are used. In OO both y-offset and x offset are wrongly rendered.
In the (RTF) example below you'll see the page height is set to 16837 and the
Y-offset is 1, meaning the cell should appear about 2/3rd of the page (as it
does correctly in MS-Word). It appears in OO in about 3/4th.

When I export the document to pdf, the formulas are no longer readable, because some of the numbers (never all of them) have been replaced bij numbers in Arabic script. When I try to export again, I do not get the same results. Other numbers (more or less, again never all of them) have been replaced. If I repeat the export often enough I sometimes get a document with no "errors". I have a Calc file that allows me to monitor my ADSL usage. This file has a total of 22 sheets that include data or charts. The procedure is as follows: 1. I copy the data from my ISP usage stats and then paste them into a Calc sheet.all the numbers and formats are fine and the formulae I have to use the ISP values to obtain the total monthly usage reflect the data correctly 2. I then copy the last day's usage, using the mouse and keyboard keys, and paste it into another sheet on the same file. On occassions OOo doesn't copy the selected text and I am presented with a box stating that there is no data to paste OR it pastes text from an earlier copy. 3. The total figures from my Data Sheet are also copied using the kb and mouse and then the Paste special command is used to only paste the numbers and formats. Very often I either get the error that there is nothing to paste or on selecting 'paste special' all the first block of boxes are selected despite me previously ensuring only Paste numbers and Formats are checked. 4. Linking the data cells to the destination cells results in blank cells being displayed?
