If I add the deleted lines case SID_DRAWTBX_RECTANGLES: aTbxResName.appendAscii( rectanglesbar ); aToolBarResStr = aTbxResName.makeStringAndClear(); break; in tbxww.cxx then the subtoolbar is there and opens. It is empty then and not available to customize. When I add the file rectangles.xml to Basis\share\config\soffice.cfg\modules\sdraw\toolbar then the rectangle toolbox is repaired. But I do not know, what to change in the code to get this result. BTW, the classical rectangles have different properties than the custom shape rectangles and up to now they cannot be substituted by the latter. I tried the Windows version, but it deleted my previous version when I installed it even though I used setup.exe /a. Is there something else I should have done to stop it deleting the old version? It also made my computer VERY slow so I couldn't do much with it. This might be my computer's fault; I'm not sure. (I will be upgrading my computer later this month so I can try it again with the new one when I get it.) It did run when I installed it, even though it was so slow. However, I was expecting to be able to write vertical text (not necessarily Mongolian) from left to right, and I couldn't. OOo 3.1 beta has already used hnj_hyphenate3 call under automatic hyphenation (btw. it was also able to fix some enormous hyphenation problems related with apostrophes using the improved algorithm and English hyphenation patterns). The problem of the manual hyphenation is relatively new for me, because I added the alternative hyphenation patch to OOo in 2002 (missed to modify the method for the manual hyphenation), but I got a bug report (about the Unicode Hungarian hyphenation patterns) only in the last autumn. I'd like to fix it, but I haven't had enough (spare) time for it, yet. I have no experience with other variable-length encodings, but I preferred UTF-8 character positions instead of byte positions because of the comfortable encoding of the hyphenation positions in the alternative pattern syntax pattern/alter=native,begin,end. There is a potential bug in alternative hyphenation patterns with combined UTF-8 characters, because the preprocessor substrings.pl doesn't recognize combined characters. A very quick fix for the problem to add a comment to the Hyphen manual (ie. the substrings.pl preprocessor doesn't recognize combined UTF-8 characters, so the cutting positions of the alternative hyphenation have to be single Unicode character positions (you have to add the combining characters to the positions)). A better method to modify substrings.pl to recognize combined Unicode characters. (In fact, future combined character support is need for the right *LEFTHYPHENMIN and *RIGHTHYPHENMIN handling.) Immediate crash. I moved the temp file back to default location and tried again on the same file. Now I have the spinning beach ball and no progress on the pdf bar at the bottom of the screen. Activity monitor shows kernal_task taking about 40% my cpu and OpenOffice as not responding but still taking about 40% of my cpu. The % for the two aren't identical but seem to rise and fall together. Nothing is currently showing up in Console. As soon as I force quit (quit didn't work) OOo, the kernal_task also disappeared and cpu activity went back to a more normal level. I tried one more time in case changing the temp folder path and not restarting was a problem. This also produced an immediate crash. I moved aside the OpenOffice.org folder in ~/Library/Application Support and restarted 310m5. Another instant crash on attempting to create a pdf file. I created a new file with one word of text. That did not crash on creating a pdf. I added a very simple equation. That did not crash on creating a pdf. I copied all the equations from the file that was crashing. That did not crash on creating a pdf. I copied the rest of the crashing file. That did not crash on creating a pdf. I put back my OpenOffice.org file in Application Support and opened a new file using my text template. That did not crash on creating a pdf. I copied the contents of the broken file into the empty template file and got an immediate crash. I quit the restarted OOo and restarted again. I opened a new text document (with my template) and copied and pasted from the beginning of the document until I got a crash on creating a pdf. It turned out the first equation was a problem. The problem seems in part to be files with equations containing Greek letters. Anything else I can pdf fine, but even the simplest file with a Greek character in it crashes in 310m5. (Is there any connection between this and the fact that in OOo, the Symbol font does _not_ produce the Greek alphabet as it does in other applications?) (Hey what gives? Now after all this experimenting the pdf icon in my palate is grayed out. Ok. Restarting fixed that.) I have added more equations - without Greek or symbols and still can get a crash. But I can put in a simple equation like x^2 and that doesn't crash. From further experimenting, it seems that I cannot use Greek (at least not %DELTA) nor operations ( at least not +) without causing a crash, but that I can do subscripts and superscripts. So is your preferred solution to convert uses of hyphenate to be uses or hyphenate3 instead ? (Unfortunately terminology like combined UTF-8 characters is sort of ambiguous, i.e. there is the combining character concept where multiple unicode code-points form a single glyph on screen, e.g. CTL equivalents of a followed by / which forms visually something like á, i.e. two or more unicode characters forming one visual glyph. And of course there is the UTF-8 concept where a variable sequence of bytes represent a single code-point. i.e. in the above example, in a UTF-16 encoding that's one visual position, but two code-points, i.e. 2 16 bit values. From November I have a problem with cups-pdf and openoffice, I explain better; I use all package of the repository official respectively cups-pdf: v. 2.4.8 openoffice: v. 2.4.1 If you create a file named for example 10.odt, write in it, save and then print with cups-pdf for generate file .pdf, the name will be 10.pdfso all ok, it work perfectly. But if you have a file always named 10.odt that draw some data for example the post address from a database (I use openoffice-base), write in it, save and then print, the file will be named sv8x.pdf or other names at random. I also tried openoffice 3.0 but the result is always the same...and also ubuntu 9.04 beta but nothing changes As well you know generating dozens of file daily becomes a very mess rename by hand all file. The bug is in openoffice, when internal rename of the file when accessing a database. CUPS-PDF just uses the name given by OpenOffice. ...repeat I happens only with the database... Or is guilty of the package of the ubuntu repository? Never isn't you happened? There's a solution? because before it has never happened. To reproduce: Use the attached ODB file, with a Basic library embedded in the file. MACRO execution is not required to reproduce. Open the attached ODB file. Edit any procedure - add one or more lines ( blank lines work) Now click on the Save tool button - quickly - do not hold the mouse button down TOO long. This works perfectly in base. If you were to then create text document and a Table Object by using this query, or by entering it as SQL into the Form. The Aggregate field will show as Zero, if the value is not a representation of an integer. Or to put it another way, the table object is attempting to perform a cast to Numeric on that column. Failure results in a Zero. This issue is with version 3.0.1 as well as the current 3.1 snap. I shall attach a simple text doc and DB that shows this behaviour.
