I am currently switching between workspaces that have different keyboard layouts (Danish / English (US)), while writing my masters thesis in British English. I've just been though the help file of the danish OOo 3.1 and it explains no where, that OOo overrules the language settings in styles, font-settings and standard document settings. However, I can acknowledge that for some users, this behaviour is much wanted. So there was a problem in there somewhere from OS level all the way to filter level, but I'll never be able to figure out where. It works now, at least on the several documents I've tested. I have noticed that the import does not remember the sections that were in the LWP file and turn them into OOo sections. I have also noticed that it will not import some/all graphics. Especially if the graphics were Lotus draw object the import only results in a blue translucent square OOo draw object. Opening the frame options dialog, type tab the area relative to which it's positioned is whole page. Changing this into page text area doesn't recalculate the number but repositions the frame upon closing the dialog. The interesting thing happens when moving the frame afterwards. It doesn't stick where dragged to but to another position which seems to be the one relative to the page borders again. That's quite annoying. I made a very small video demonstrating this. The fundamental problem appears to be that any autocorrect entry created using [highlight word]Tools--Autocorrect options or by cutting and pasting words into autocorrect fields is not handled properly. All autocorrect problems related to this bug appear to clear up after (A) ALL offending autocorrect table entries are manually retyped, or (B) The existing autocorrect user file is deleted. Problems occur after importing a table from ver 3.0.1 containing entries created using cut-and-paste or popup from highlighted word. Problems can be re-created in a good 3.1.0 table by creating entries using cut-and-paste or popup from highlighted word. Some observed symptoms: (1) After update from 3.0.1 to 3.1.0, autocorrect entries that used to work no longer work. Upon examination, the Replace field appears to be intact, and the With field appears to be blank, i.e. rc--Richard becomes rc--[blank]. In cases where the Replace field was a word containing diacriticals or accented characters, the Replace field has been refilled with the same word, with all special characters converted to their corresponding normal characters, i.e. cooperate--coöperate becomes cooperate--cooperate. (2) The presence of a corrupted field elsewhere in the table appears to alter the autocorrect from hyphen to long dash. Instead of conversion upon typing -[space] or --[space] (depending on your hyphen table entry), conversion SPECIFICALLY does not occur until you have typed -[space][someword][space or punctuation. Hyphens preceded by punctuation convert ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME, i.e. ![space]-[space][someword][space] or ?[space]-[space][someword][space]. This behavior has been noted by other users, as well. (3) -- or -- will not convert at all, (at least not with any string I could think up) regardless of what precedes or follows them. Replication is not easy. Changing an entry using cut-and-paste, then killing and restarting Writer (and all instances, including quick-start icon) DOES NOT trigger a corruption. New entries may work for a while, then mysteriously become altered or inoperable some time later. It seems unrelated to running time; some specific operation must be triggering it, but I cannot pin it down. The best suggestion I can offer is to create several autocorrect entries under version 3.0.1, upgrade to 3.1.0, then check them.
