I cut it down with 3.0.1 where the figures were displayed correctly. I then installed 3.1.1 just to make sure about the issue and the results were the same. When I open up and refresh the link it turns out that the first 2 rows of the report contained identical figures even though I had saved the report with randomly placed different figures. What I have done is put 1 in the first tab, 10's in the second tab and so forth. I find it hard to having to switch back and forth between versions so please bear with me if, in about a week or so I will not do more experimentation. I need a functioning version of Openoffice to do my work. In looking at the Vlookup bug as submitted in May, yes it looks similar. As I have indicated I did experiment with Vlookup as well. That turned out to be also a failure because I had to alternate Lookup with VLOOKUP in order to get it to work. Thank you for the patience. I had a closer look some time ago, and, while true that OOo becomes again responsive during *brief* moments in time, it is mostly unresponsive. I have tested this with a smaller spreadsheet on my 1 GHz PC. If I get some time next week, I will try to test it on a faster processor, too (though then I will open simultaneously a couple of realistic spreadsheets). The problem is that, despite Calc becoming responsive again for brief periods of time, it is mostly unresponsive, and so it makes any concurrent work impossible. Short description: OOo's special character dialog doesn't display all possible characters, e.g. comparing to KCharselect. For example, Canadian syllabics (U+1400–167F according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Aboriginal_syllabics ) are not found in any font but at the same time KCharselect displays them correctly in all fonts that include that range. There seems to be some more characters or character sets OOo doesn't just display and KCharselect does. This is a regression between Mac OS X 10.5.x and Mac OS X 10.6.x which is likely due to the change from Quicktime 7.x in 10.5.x to Quicktime X in 10.6.x which may also caused a change in the Quicktime API that OOo uses to playback sound. OOo doesn't display Syllabics in none of them. But Canadian Syllabics is not the only example. KCharselect displays e.g Ogham in all mentioned four fonts, OOo only in Dejavu Sans. KCharselect displays runes in all mentioned four fonts, OOo in none of them. All my fonts are either installed from Mandriva's RPMs or imported from my Windows Vista. When i pasted from an outside source a big table with 08-09, 09-10, 10-11 (and so on) everything below 12-13 changed into a date and simply trying to change it back to a number through the cell format resulted in it being changed to 40064.
