It seems KCharselect tries to show all possible subsets in font if possible - it displays runes or ogham or Canadian Syllabics almost in every font, except Open Symbol or Wingdings (though in some fonts more completely and in some fonts just a few characters). But I will not blame OOo for this kind of solution, Acrobat-Reader prints the same way. Printing a 1x2 N-Up is better now, because when printing with all pages/normal and then all pages/reverse you get document page 2 on the back of document page 1, document page 4 on the back of document page 3, and so on.
