added performance keyword.
I hope people from the OOo Performance team will take care of this issue.

the very slow loading of the autocorrect replacement table is also preventing
users to quicly enter the other tabs that make part of OOo dialog window (i.e.
autocomplete, exceptions, etc. etc.)

Reproducible with Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI activated
[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)], but INVALID

Please open sample document and check Menu 'View - Value Highlighting'! Now in
cell range 'C2:C47' you will see several highlighted numbers and several not
highlighted texts (27, 28, 26), and you can see that the highlighted
numbers can be inserted manually into 'C62' (because that cell has formatting
'number'), but you cant insert number 26, because in the validity definition
cell range there only is a text 26. but no number 26.

If you modify formatting of cell 'C63', you will see that there only texts can
be inserted manually, all numbers will be blocked for manual insert.

I agree, that's a little

Confirmed with OpenOffice.org 3.1.1, OOO310m21.

The problem shows already with a 2 page document:
- The link shows correctly if the whole document or page 1 is exported.
- The link is not shown if only page 2 is exported.

With more pages, the links shows correctly if page 1 is included (e.g. 1-5 OR
1;5;7). The link is not shown if page 1 is not part of the export.

I agree, especially for presentations it's really annoying that they mit look
tifferent on a different PC with missing resources, but this issue cant be fixed
easily:

Today it's a general practice that font sets generally belong to OS/PC, not to
the application or the document; there are only very few exceptions where fonts
will be embedded more or less read only into PDF documents and for similar
document use.

It would be really difficult to respect licenses for fonts if you embed them;
save the new document as a template, and you have it available on the new PC for
OOo without limitations.

This issue is a DUP of Issue 20370, and I can't see any new arguments that might
be a reason to revise the WONTFIX decision there.

The database file opened from network, which has a problem. you have a full
right on this folder?

When you opens your file on network, the lock file (same name as odb with .lck
as file extension) can be found next to the odb file?

What happens if you open the same file from your computer, not from network.

I would make changes to default values and descriptions then as I finished.
Default values come from table wizards?

When you saved changes in table design view it saved, and under the main menu
failed?

OpenOffice breaks not any law, giving ability to save a document with its fonts
embedded in

In fact, users may choice to embed or not, since OpenOffice does not embed
automatically any kind of font, is the user that embed and he is the only
responsible if he/she embed fonts he can't embed

I wonder of your (and other moderators) behavior, why OpenOffice must not have a
key-feature like this?

click once on the font combo arrow: the list appears;
without taking the mouse from the arrow:
click second time: the list disappears;
third time it should re-appear, shouldn't it? well it doesn't.

move the mouse cursor down to the wizards: the wizards list will appear.
move it up to recent open files: once in a few times the recent files submenu

I can reproduce the problem by changing the font size of Test. with DoulosSIL.

Previously, I had omitted to check the font scaling parameter before reusing the
glyph vectors from the GrSegRecord cache. The attached patch stores the
fontscale in the GrSegRecord (there was already a field for it, it just wasn't
being used). The scale is then checked before the glyph vectors are reused.

@roydalpra Please could you check whether this patch fixes the bug for you.

A superficial test on 3.0.0 (Windows XP) did not show the deviant behavior.
So the bug was probably introduced afterwards.

If i rename an coloumn in the table editor like
dtText in dttext, and saved the table by click on the save
button. The coloumn will be deleted without any hint that data will
be lost.
After opening the Table, the new coloumn name exist, but the
datasets where lost.
It would be nice, if renaming of a coloumn would work without deleting and
creating a new coloumn. Otherwise an information to the user is helpfull.

I checked this with OOO320m7 on WinXP and 3.1.1 and in both it is the same.

-Open attached database
-double click on Table1
= notice that dtText is filled
-edit Table1
-rename dtText in dttext
-push the save Button
- close and reopen Table1
=In the example you can see, that the dtLook coloumn now is at
the second position.

I'm looking at this attachment from mt:

~
Created an attachment (id=58829)
Sample document with annotation, visible in OOo 3, not in OOo 2
~

Based on this sample, it seems that an annotation:

* is a scrollable text object whose color can vary
* contains paragraphs whose text can be formatted
* contains a text (paragraph?) object (or two?) to display the
commenter and the time of the comment.
* contains a button-like object with an associated pop-up menu

According to Accerciser, the hierarchy starting from the document frame is, in
its entirety:

- ATK_ROLE_DOCUMENT_FRAME
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH

The second note is associated with the 8th paragraph. Therefore, just
considering the second note, I'd expect the hierarchy to instead be something
*like*:

- ATK_ROLE_DOCUMENT_FRAME
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
   - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH
  - ATK_ROLE_SCROLL_PANE
 - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH (Annotation)
 - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH (1st paragraph bold)
 - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH (2nd paragraph italic)
 - ATK_ROLE_PARAGRAPH (3rd paragraph centered)
 - ATK_ROLE_{TEXT,PARAGRAPH} (Oliver-Rainer Wittmann)
 - ATK_ROLE_{TEXT,PARAGRAPH} (12/12/2008 15:01)

I'd expect to be able to identify the position of note by your implementation of
AtkComponent. (Related aside: atk_component_grab_focus might be a handy,
alternative way for an AT to deal with the issue of how to move focus there
efficiently.) I'd expect all of the text objects to implement AtkText and, if
editable, AtkEditableText; to expose the associated text attributes; to reflect
the appropriate states; etc., etc. (I'd also expect these items to be fully
keyboard navigable, but that's a different issue.)

So the above is a long way of saying that I personally don't believe annotations
are anything really new a11y-wize. They're seem to me to be like fancy little
embedded documents. :-) And you're already implementing a11y support for
documents. So could you do essentially what you're already doing there, but make
the annotations be children of the paragraph with which they are associated?

Beyond the above:

* I believe that forms can contain scroll panes as well. It would be nice to
have a reliable, easy way for an AT to be able to distinguish the two. I think
this could be an object attribute.

* It might be worth doing something to suggest what the underlying roles are
with respect to the text within an annotation (e.g. Author, Date, note content,
etc.). This might be another candidate for object attributes. Perhaps the ARIA
specifications and implementation by browsers could serve as a model??

* I wonder... Would it be worth implementing ATK_RELATION_FLOWS_{TO,FROM} so
that one annotation could point to the {next, previous} annotation? That might
also be a handy way for an AT to address the issue of efficient navigation
amongst these items.

* We can already identify where the little triangle at the beginning of the
range is from the embedded object character which is present in the AtkText
implementation. However, as MT observed:

~
- With ODF 1.2 they can be bound to a range starting in one paragraph,
ending in an other - how to expose this relation?
~

Ugh. I'm not sure on this one. How would I as a sighted user notice/identify
this?

I can confirm the bug for DEV300 m66 on WinXP. The problem has been told already
in issue 102096, which was closed as worksforme.

I think it is a severe error, because the user notice the data loss earliest
when he has closed the edit window and then there is no undo possible, because
the changes are written immediately to the database.

There had been a similar bug issue 14870 which was fixed for OOo1.1. But I see
the bug in OO2.4.3 too.

I can't open my Office Writer! It was working when I first downloaded it a
couple days ago; I tried opening it from my Start menu and also tried going to
Windows Explorer to open a file in that program. Neither worked.

I did a search for this enhancement idea and didn't get any hits on the keywords
I used, so I am going to assume that no one has suggested this yet.

I have a suggestion for an enhancement to OpenOffice Writer. It has to do with
outlines, numbered lists and things like that. In other products, some of which
seem to be fairly simple programs, so hopefully the coding wouldn't be too hard
for OpenOffice.

In these products, when you do outlines they are in levels, and you can collapse
and expand different levels. So, if you want to see only 1st level entries in
the outline, you collapse all levels below level 1. If you only want to see 1st
and 2nd levels, you collapse everything below level 2, etc. And they have it
set up kind of like where you have a subject or title element and a text
element, so that if you only want to see the subject of the entry you can
collapse the text entries and hide them, but if you want to see subjects and
their text you can do that too.

I realize this can be done somewhat with hidden paragraphs, hidden text,
whatever. But I like the above type of functionality better and I am sure that
there are 1,000's of other users out there that like their outlines like this.

Any chance of implementing something like this?

www.free-fonts.com/

For me: Every program I have ever owned (paid for) and used (free) I have
generally scanned them for images and fonts - to add to my own database.

I have also downloaded stacks of free stuff from the web.

I image that many other people would be doing the same or similar things.

I also image that many other people would be using other programs and have the
fonts that came with those programs installed into the windows common fonts
database.

So free and or legal use of their own fonts is their or OUR own business.

I use the Open Office Draw to wholly or in part or in conjunction with other
software to create engineering drawings, posters and photographic works - along
with books, and manuals and standard business and personal documents.

The problem I have is when I use any of the Open Office programs to create
documents or works and when I transfer the document or works to a
different computer OR just as bad - which makes me look like an idiot; and it
also means that I cannot use Open Office programs to submit works or
assignments or things that earn me an income in the native OO formats; because
all of the fonts I have used in the creation of those works, are NOT embedded in
the works.

And so when I transfer my works to another computer or I send them to another
person who doesn't have the same font set on their computers, the document
reverts from clever and specific layouts, with specific fonts, quite often with
specific sizes, character, word and line spacing -

So instead of seeing 400 point Le Grande Artistic Flourish as a headline font on
a A1 poster, I get times new roman 12 point font.

That makes whatever I create worthless.

I can't use it / make or modify it across a number of computers.

I can't send it to other people for evaluation, modification, marking or sales.

It makes what ever I create as a stand alone work, on a stand alone computer
that ONLY works on that specific computer.

When this software makes all of my hard work WORTHLESS - then we have a problem.

So Mr Rainer Sir - I do NOT agree with any of your arguments.

Because not only does this cause ME a MAJOR PROBLEM - it also causes MILLIONS OF
OTHER PEOPLE all around the world - the exact same problem.

Basically sending defective works to other people - is much like sending them
malware that instead of deleting their programs on their computer - it deletes
the contents and formatting of the documents that they use on their computer.

It is NOT an acceptable outcome for you to say that
