Reproducible with "Ooo-Dev 3.3 multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [DEV300m77
(Build 9496)]" for "issue.odp" and my own sample documens!

Worked fine with "2.4.1  Multilingual version German UI WIN XP:
[680m17(Build9310)]".

No longer reproducible with "Ooo-Dev 3.3 multilingual version German UI WIN XP:
[DEV300m77 (Build 9496)]", it seems that the problem has been fixed!

Now - I understand that this issue was submitted as far back as 2002.
It has also been reported a few times since, and in at least a couple of cases
the issues were closed as 'duplicate'.
I then found a reference in the "What's new in 3.2" read me that this function
has been fixed in version 3.2.

However, the behaviour seems to remain the same in this version.

I have a spreadsheet (an order form) that is populated from columns A to L.
Columns A to F form 'one big column', G to L form 'another big column'.
In 'big column'  A to F, headings appear, which consist of cells A to D merged
and cells E and F merged, within one row. (The rows that are NOT headings retain
their individual identities, and are populated with various values (SKU, size,
etc) )

The contents of the order form vary from week to week, and I have to go in and
remove items, which mean I am removing 6 cells (a26,b26,c26,d26,e26,f26) from a 
row.

However, when I go to delete the cell contents, and am presented with the "Shift
cells up" I receive the same error message as in all other versions of
OpenOffice that I have tried "Deleting in merged ranges not possible"

To recap - I am deleting non merged cells from a range in the spreadsheet that
has merged cells in the same columns below the cells I am deleting, that span
the SAME RANGE as the cells that I am deleting (ie: the merged cells a28-d28)
and I am trying to delete (a26-d26) and shift the cells below up.

This works in MS Excel - the cells are deleted, and the cells below are moved 
up.

It seems intuitive that that is the way this function should behave - it is not
as if I am removing a smaller subset of cells in this virtual 'big column' - I
am in essence removing one row from the 'big column'.

I downloaded and tried the CalcEasy Toolbar 1.1.2 - and it is very good at
removing the whole row across ALL of the cells (BOTH 'big columns' A-F and G-L
at once, but it can not remove A-D, for example.

I have never explored what goes in to the 'built in' macros of a spreadsheet,
but I am an IT veteran, former programmer, and would be willing to assist in any
way that I was capable towards resolution of this problem.

To reproduce:
1. Create database in Base - create at least 1 table (with 2 or 3 fields) and
enter at least 1 piece of data - save DB as odb file.
2. Create text doc in Writer - Edit -> Exchange Database - select your DB and
table created above - Insert -> Fields -> Other - select your table fields from
above.
3. Print text doc - select Yes to merge form - select correct table (if not
already selected) - output as File (either single or multiple).

The resulting odt file will not have merged anything - all the merge fields will
be blank.

Using Ubuntu 10.04 / OO.org 3.2 or Windows XP / OO.org 3.2

This worked fine in Ubuntu 9.04 (with OO 3.0).

When adding copied rows using PASTE SPECIAL ( set to DOWN ) : some static 
references don't change to refer to the new position of the static reference.

When inserting a row at the Row 5 position - a static reference to $E$20 can be 
made to remain referencing E20 rather than referencing the new position of E21.

This happens only on a complex statement - I have tried to distill the 
statement down and think that I have now got to the smallest point where the 
fault occurs.

I enclose a Spreadsheet with 'Before', 'After' sheets as well as a 'Comment' 
sheet. Inserting a row at the Row5 position using the Paste Special causes the 
fault to occur.

There are many old issues related to anchoring and wrapping objects in OOo.  
Many 
of these issues are closed, but a reoccurring request that does not seem to be 
addressed elsewhere is the need to a user-defined default settings for adding 
objects in OOo.  Differing users desire, for example, to anchor objects to 
paragraph or character or page.  OOo allows users to assign these settings but 
the 
default is "to paragraph."  Could this not easily be added to the 
"Tools>Options" 
menu for OOo?

The sample file is a Word 2003 document that contains a fairly complex table.
When imported into Writer some of the table borders are lost (see example 
image).

This occurs under both Visa and Linux Fedora.

I use Writer a lot and often have several copies open at once.  Attempted to 
start 
Calc (all other OO apps closed) and it refused to start but no error generated. 
 
Task manager reported multiple copies in memory.  Forced closed and OO started 
without error.

Found this bug in OOO320m16.

I can insert data into a query, the data is stored, but not shown and I get an
error message "No data is available".

(Attention: This is NOT a duplicate of #108390 or #108390 is wrongly marked as
FIXED)

Reproduce:

(1) Create a new database
(2) Create a new table "Table1". Fields are:
- "ID" (Number) / Primary Key
- "Text" (Text)
(3) Create a new query: SELECT * FROM "Table1" WHERE "ID" = 1
(4) Save, close an reopen the query
(5) Try to insert data.

Result: You get the Error message "Error inserting the new record - No data is
available" However, the new record is stored in the table!

Add a default setting to the "Options" menu for anchoring, wrapping, etc for 
objects.  In looking around the issue postings on Anchoring objects in OOo 
there 
is a common thread that I did not find as a specific issue but it was mentioned 
in 
other issues that were closed as duplicates.  Users have different needs and 
preferences for how they wish objects to be anchored by default in their 
documents.  OOo 3.2 has a very handy toolbar that allows users to change the 
anchor point but it would be most helpful to add a default configuration under 
"Tools>Options."  Users could then set their own default and then change things 
with the toolbar in other instances.

Please open the attached odp. It opens with enabled spell checker.

The word is is still underlined red.

Now the red underlining has vanished.

Found on OOo 3.2.0 Linux build.

I think this Issue should be reopened.
Ctrl+F doesn't have to close the dialog (only open it).
If you need to close dialog you can do as in all other software Alt+Tab until
you have focused the dialog and thereafter Alt+F4 to close dialog.
This way OpenOffice could behave in a standard way.

The problem on Windows XP is fixed in cws fwk141 now. It is a regression, so it
should be handled as a showstopper I assume.

The problem with the ActiveX control window taking only half of the browser is a

In openoffice when using accelerator key for find and replace (Ctrl-F) the
dialog toggles on or off. This is inconsistent with allmost all other software.
In other software if I press Ctrl+F I always get a search dialog. In open office
the dialog closes if it is already open. This causes problem because pressing
Ctrl+F is a standard way of opening Find dialog. In openoffice I always have to
look wether my keypress actually opened or closed the dialog. Alt + F4 is the
standard close dialog combination.
It would be nice to at least have an option to have standard functionality, even
if you don't want to change the pequliar way openoffice handles Ctrl+F keypress.

The attached test document has a TOC and a List of Tables(LOT). The entry in the
LOT has been converted into upper case. Not only does this deviate from the MS
2003 format, it can cause a secondary (and from our customers perspective, a
more serious problem), of altering the number of pages in a document (as the LOT
consumes more pages). The test document exhibits this under both Windows
(Vista), and Linux (Fedora 12).

First of all, this is really similar to issue 45128, maybe merge or mark as
duplicate?

In the long run full control over font / glyph fallback and substitution would
be desirable of course but as that's a big (UI) change maybe some of the
following could be implemented:
- a warning (on opening a document) that substitution is taking place.
- an option to turn off all substitution and live with black boxes or boxes with
the Unicode codepoint number in them. Make it an environment variable if that's
easier
- an indication in the font dropdown box that substitution is taking place (at
the cursor position / in the selection). A symbol, different color, anything.
- a way to search for substituted glyphs / fonts

a "Size" consists of two longs. a "awt::Size" consists of two sal_Int32. On
64bit Linux a long is 8bytes, while sal_Int32 is of course 4 bytes. Hence the

I guess that's supposed to be a feature but it's really a pain. I'd rather know
that a certain font doesn't have the glyphs I need than wonder why some of them
look a bit off. Will file seperately for an option to turn it off.

Have you actually tried that? I don't know of a CJK font where the latin range
doesn't look really strange / ugly to a Western reader.

So the language and font are switched *to* Japanese as soon as a glyph is
encountered that the Western font doesn't have. Sounds reasonable.

The problem is when to switch (back) to German. Using the same method as above
that would *never* happen since most CJK fonts have all the glyphs required for
German. So at the moment some characters available in Western fonts trigger a
switch anyway, while others don't. Not very consistent, that. There's room for
improvement.

In this case the logical approach would be to switch back as soon as a glyph is
encountered that the Western font does have, which would include the "regular"
half-width space, comma, etc. Only now people who want to write primarily in
Japanese with some Western text interspersed are screwed.

A way to solve this problem would be to treat one language (or at least script,
i. e. Western | Asian | CTL) as primary or preferred in every context so that
the associated font would be used whenever possible. Later styles could get a
setting for it.

with Accerciser 1.8.0.

Cannot confirm a fixed but failed.

What I did (this applies for "Apply style", "Font size" and "Font name"):
- click in or travel to (keyboard) the "Apply style" drop down listbox
-> object:text-selection-changed events emitted because the style name is
selected -> ok
- up/down with the keyboard
-> object:text-selection-changed events emitted because the style name in the
selection is changing  -> ok
- 1 time Right or Left with the keyboard
-> object:text-selection-changed events emitted because the style name is
de-selected  -> ok

The current fix:

This has happened to me a few times. As I am typing, the program closes, and I
need to retrieve it from the document directory.

Here is where the problem begins. When I try to retrieve the document in OO, it
is ignored and nothing happens - even though it's on the list of files in the
directory.It refuses to open up.

Furthermore, that same file can be opened in MSWord or WordPerfect. 

To add to the confusion, if I rename the file, it still refuses to open in OO,
BUT if I use "copy" and save as it as "copy of Filename," OO will open it. It is
totally a mystery to me.

In spreadsheet, if a cell contains lots of text, the row height may larger than
the window or even screen height. In that case it is currently not possible to
re-size the row-height by the mouse. It is possible to do this by keyboard or by
the menu, however these interactions need some knowledge not every user has.

Idea (offered by nn): 
Allow the user to grab cells with an oversized height always at the lower window
border, regardless of, if the cell is actually ending there. Grabbing the cell
at the lower window border would have the same effect as grabbing the cell at
its lower cell border, so the user is able to change the cell height by the 
mouse.
