Just as the dimensioning tool has the option to select number of decimal places, so it would be useful to do the same for the object dimensions displayed in the box at the bottom of the screen, whcih si fixed at 2 places regardless of dimension format. I only use metric. If displaying metres it would be more useful to have 3 places of decimals, as this would take the sizes to the nearest whole millimetre. (Which would probably suit all users except engineers). Since the menu only goes to two places, I have to set the menu option to centimetres to get to the nearest millimetre. This leads to me make mistakes as none of my drawings or reference material is in centimetres. It is quite common practice in drawing in metric to try and stick to one metric format, and not mix metres, cms, and mms on the same drawing, or alter the number of decimal places used. This is because it is easy to misunderstand decimal places, or even have a decimal point not print clearly and be missed. By sticking to one format for all sizes you always know where the decimal point is, and what sizes you are dealing with, especially if m, cm, or mm is not written every after every size. Saves space and clutter). Choice of decimal places displayed please! This can lead to missing numerals to the dimension shown on the right (Object height) Since the numerals justify to the left, the bigger the object width dimension becomes, the more of the height dimension is pushed from sight as display box is too small to show all the figures. The worst case scenario is working in millimetres to 1:100 scale, but it also happens to a lesser degree at larger scales (1:10, 1:50) and using cm. At 1:100 in mm I can easily lose the 5 numerals + decimal point. To see the missing numerals means using context menu and bringing up the position and size menu. Since I may have to do that a lot of times in a drawing it is very time consuming. Also frustrating from a design point of view since there are acres of unused space in the bar to the left of the box, meaning it could have been twice the size. You will also find that the last few numbers of the location coordinates go behind the dimension icon in the same box. Not a problem for me as I have no use for them. This is when the problem appeared. The issue persists in 3.2.1 for x86_64. I can open old Writer documents containing labels and print them without issue. If I save the document (to preserve printer settings in my case) the document will not print again after re-loading. Steps to reproduce: Open an old working Writer file with Base-linked labels or create a new one. Print, get the prompt for "Form letter", click yes, select records, print labels. Save document. Exit and re-load the document. Print again. I get the "Form letter" dialog, click Yes, the dialog will go away and no record select will appear. If this file is sent to other systems (Windows in my case) the problem carries with the file, Windows 32-bit 3.2.0 reacted the same way to files saved under 3.2.0 x86_64. OOo 3.2.0 for Windows 32-bit does not create the problem using the same files copied over from Linux in a pre x86_64 saved state. Labels created in Windows 32-bit OOo 3.2.0 will print under Linux OOo 3.2.0 x86_64 correctly as long as the document is not saved and re-loaded. If saved under Linux x86_64, the in-memory document will still print. Exiting and re-loading manifests the problem. Re-saving the document under Windows 32-bit version of OOo does not remove the problem. This only appears when using fields from Base, plain labels re-load and print correctly. This is apparently a limit in the entry conversion for times having greater than 65535 hours. Steps to reproduce: 1) File > New > Spreadsheet 2) A1: Enter a date+time: 2010-06-07T12:34 3) Format > Cells > Numbers > Category: Time, Format: HH:MM (first in list) The value display in the editing area now shows: 968076:34:00 4) Edit the value but don't change it (add a space at the end, then press Enter) 5) The value in the cell is now: 50572:34:00 The new hours value appears consistent with truncation to 16 bits at some point: =MOD(968076;65536) --> 50572. This problem also occurs if the user creates a chart with date+time values formatted without the date. Trying to set the axis limits will offer a date shown as hours:minutes and editing the value will truncate, giving a huge axis range. See the sample sheet attached to Issue 25706 for one example: http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/55112/bad%20datetime%20graph.ods I'm not sure what the real bug is here. Removing the limit in the input conversion would be good, but it would be better if Calc did not require the user to edit a date+time in this format at all.
