To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=93503 --- Additional comments from tantai_thanaka...@openoffice.org Wed Sep 22 06:41:07 + 2010 --- In the export filter, I remove the code that "check Thai T NatNum modifier and export as "t" to Excel" because in Excel, the "t" format will format Thai number using native digits correctly in Thai locale only. So I check NatNum specifier and export it as LCID to format Thai number shape correctly in all locale. In the import filter, I add the check for LCID and convert it into an appropriate calendarID and NatNum before checking for symboltype. I try to add support for other calendarID in the export and import filter. However, I have the following problems in the export filter :- - for [~hijri], in GetMappedFormatString(), I always get LANGUAGE_ENGLISH_US in the cell while actually it should be LANGUAGE_ARABIC_. So I cannot add the right numeral shape code into the LCID. - for [~persian], in GetMappedFormatString(), the celendarID [~-persion] disappear from the format code. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=114665 Issue #|114665 Summary|Occasional hang and crash when editing text data in Ba |se forms Component|Database access Version|OOo 3.2.1 Platform|Macintosh URL| OS/Version|Mac OS X, 10.5 Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|none Assigned to|dbaneedsconfirm Reported by|ameliab --- Additional comments from amel...@openoffice.org Wed Sep 22 00:51:16 + 2010 --- On at least three occasions now, OpenOffice has crashed after an extended hang (presumably an infinite loop type issue) while I have been editing text data in a Base form. The Base file uses an embedded HSQL DB. I can't reliably recreate the issue, but when it has occurred it happens after copying text into the form from another document or application, then trying to edit the copied text in the form. The data being copied is plain text and is not of unusual size. In today's case it was being copied from a Writer file. I know that's a horrendously vague description, but it is particularly annoying since it generally results in significant loss of data because of not having any easy way to backup or ability to recover the embedded DB. (I know -- it's easy to say don't use the embedded DB; but a major reason I chose OO for this project was the ability to easily transfer the work between different computers and users in one convenient file. I have warned the other users to manually back up the file (using "Save As") frequently, but apparently forgot to take my own advice!) I am attaching the stack trace from Mac OS's crash report just in case an ambitious developer wants to investigate. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But I do get "general internet error" if OOO 3.2.1 is launched on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 machine, against that same WebDAV server. MS Word, talking to that same server, has no issues. I'm using jCIFS's HTTP filter for NTLMv1. The bad behavior looks like this: request/response, prompt, request/response, request/ response (start over?), prompt, request/response, general internet error. Server-side, I don't see any failures, other than OOO just not following- through with a third request/response to finish the challenge. Good behavior (from Windows XP clients) looks like: request/response, prompt, request/ response, request/response - PROPFIND, HEAD, GET, PROPFIND. - I've tried switching to NTLMv2 on the WebDAV server, in the hopes that this is caused by Windows' minimum security level (lmcompatibilitylevel) though I haven't been able to either replicate the problem in XP, nor make it disappear in 2k8, by increasing/decreasing this setting from its defaults. I use Jespa (IOPlex) for NTLMv2, and I found that Jespa had an update as of "1.1.0b2 July 23, 2010" that might have fixed the "not a type 1 message" errors I was seeing previously when accessing jespa 1.0.4 from OOO 3.2.1, which originally caused me to stick with NTLMv1. So I updated to jespa 1.1.2, but I still get "not a type 1 message" when using OOO 3.2.1, regardless of the version of Windows I try from. It errors out at java.io.IOException: Not a Type 1 message. at jcifs.ntlmssp.Type1Message.parse(Type1Message.java:232) at jcifs.ntlmssp.Type1Message.(Type1Message.java:88) at jespa.ntlm.NtlmSecurityProvider.acceptSecContext (NtlmSecurityProvider.java:1045) Again, MS Word has no problem accessing that same WebDAV server, with either NTLM v1 or v2. I don't see any difference in behavior in OOO when either explictly entering username/password, or using [x] system credentials. I'm going to try OOO 3.3 beta when I get a chance, and we'll also try slightly older (3.2.0-ish) versions to see if this is a regression. All of this new testing was done from inside the network, from other machines in the same Domain (not cross-domain). My original report was related, but I hadn't really pinned the problem down. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I am attaching 2 pdf's displaying the issue using Calc. In both prints the page setting on that tab is set for Tabloid, Landscape, and scale print area to fit 1 page. "Incorrect Paper Size.pdf" is the result. Print comes out on 8.5x11 and cut off. With "Paper Size Forced at Printer.pdf" I did just that and told it to print to stack bypass and forced it to use 11x17 paper. It just printed the 8.5x11 area on the sheet. In the end it may just be a naming thing. I dont know how the size is relayed to the printer (by dimensions or name), but I do know that Excel does not recognize "Tabloid" if the file is saved as .xls from Calc but it does know 11x17. If it's dimensions, I dont think they are recognizing the dimensions. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46774 --- Additional comments from stevanwh...@openoffice.org Tue Sep 21 19:58:41 + 2010 --- Regarding implementation: Be advised that many OpenType fonts posess a 'smcp' substitution table that refers to a specially designed set of glyphs for small caps. These glyphs are designed to be of the form of the capital letters, but of the size and weight of the small letters. If such a table exists in a font, those glyphs should be used first to make small caps. There is also a similar table 'c2sc' for converting capitals to small caps. Failing that, small caps should be generated as versions of the capital glyphs, scaled to the height of the small letters (the x height). For this operation, somehow the correspondence between small and capital letters in the script has to be prescribed as well. I think that small caps only makes sense in Latin-based scripts. In Cyrillic particularly, it would be a poor idea, due to the similarity of most of the capital letters to the small ones. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This also happens if you try to copy text with an embedded bookmark, but it's made really serious by the fact that any copy (even without paste) automatically creates bookmarks. Thus copying the same piece of text twice will crash OOo. Ouch! Work around is to use the Navigator to delete these automatically generated bookmarks before trying any further copying. Obviously this doesn't help if you actually WANT the bookmark concerned. ATB, Peter - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Table 'embedded' is embedded in a cell of table 'master'. Writer doesn't print/render the whole content of this document. The two lines with the content 'not rendererd line' are not visible if you are in the printlayoutview or if you print this document. If you delete one paragraph break from cell Master:A1, the whole content becomes visible and will be printed correctly. The cell content cannot continue over the next page border. If the first line of the cell content reaches the end of the page, the cell text does not split into the next page but somehow "disappears" into bottom of the page. For our system this is a very critical bug because if we embedd one table into the cell of another table we cannont be sure that the printresult will be correct. Is this the same problem described in issue 84942? Are there any workarounds for this problem? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I understand tha non-English Mac users of OOO is just a niche. But for anyone of that niche (not only Polish - the bug also exists in other non-English languages) - this issue is definitely "Priority 1" as it makes OOO unusable. I am making this P1 again. If I am wrong - please correct me. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
