This issue i was logged for OOo 2.0.1 four years ago.
Today we have 3.2.1 and we face a different situation:
- the bug 'top of next page is visible' only appears on certain platforms (Mac)
but not on all (Solaris/Sparc)
- the issue is logged as an RFE to create a new interface to be able to scroll
page by page.  Such an
interface is already n place with the 'Previous page' and 'Next page' buttons
on the right hand side.

All that is left of the original issue is that the bug is still existing on
certain platforms.
That means: either the issue needs to be corrected (bug instead of RFE) and
reduced to fixing the bug or a
new issue needs to be openend to clearly state the pending issue.

Add-on: I see the same error on OpenSolaris 2009.06 and StarOffice 9.2
(OOO320m12, build 9483).
Not sure exactly which package is responsible for the desktop integration
(SUNWstaroffice9-desktop-
int-root maybe) but there is no integration happening.
I would expect StarOffice to show up in Applications-Office but it is not.

Contrary to the original poster I see that the desktop files
in/opt/staroffice9/share/xdg contain lines
like
  Categories=Application;Office.
The desktop files should be put into the /usr/share/applications folder though
to show up and
secondly the command 'staroffice9' should be made available system wide in
order for the commands
  Exec=staroffice9 -base %U
to run properly.
