- I can reproduce the bug under
  - Ubuntu 8.10 with OOo2.4.1 and OOO300m15(Build:9397)
  - Windows Vista with OOO300m15(Build:9397)
  - For Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 it simply hangs there.
- Here are the steps I followed
  - Start OpenOffice
  - Start a new text document
  - Type anything
  - Press F11 --> a pop-up menu for "Styles and Formatting" would appear.
  - Choose any formatting options, i.e. Heading 1, by double clicking on it.
  - Close the pop-up menu
  - Click on 'insert' from the menu bar.
  - Press 'x' or choose 'Indexes and Tables' from the drop down menu
  - Press 'i' or choose 'Insert Indexs /Tables' from the cascading menu
--> A pop-up menu for "Insert Index/Table" will appear
  - uncheck the box for "Protected against manual changes"
  - Click on ok.
  - Press Crtl-A to select everything
  - Right click on the selection and choose 'Edit Index/Table' from the drop
down menu
 --> A pop-up menu for "Insert Index/Table" will appear
  - Click on OK.
  - Writer will either crash or hang at this point.

- Work-Around
  - to work-around this bug, simply type something after the Table of Content
and then try to edit the TOC. We can then delete this text. Obviously We need to
type something after the Table Of Content.
  - or simply remove any text before the TOC. Then edit the TOC. After then we
can add any text needed before the TOC.
  - I tested these two cases and they worked ok with me.

Rafiq

[graphics-issues] [Issue 85350] autopilot presentation cra shes if extension is installed

I can reproduce the bug under
 - Red Hat Enterprise Linux w/ OOo 2.4.1
 - Ubuntu 8.10 w/ OOo 2.4.1
 - Windows Vista w/ OOo 2.4.1
iff I choose "Subtle Accents" as a presentation slide design from the
"Presentation Backgrounds" menu on Step 2 of the Presentation Wizard. So, a good
work-around would be not to use "Subtle Accents" as a presentation slide design.
 - Also the extensions seem to work ok with writer, calc and all other features
of OOo.
 - I also repeated the test(with the extension) on OOO300m15(Build"9397) On all
OS and could not reproduce the bug.
 - In case anyone has any problem of adding the extension, do the following
 - start openoffice (on Xterminal type ooffice.x.x.x where x.x.x is the version
number)
 - click on Tools --> then click on Extension Manager [You don't need to open
any new file to add extension].
 - On Windows simply click on "Add.." button
 - navigate to the folder where the file 'broadcastcomp.uno.zip' is located
and then select the zip file and click on open. (It is assumed you have already
downloaded the attachment and extracted the zip file).
 - On Linux highlight "My Extensions' then click on the "Add.." button and then
add the zip file named 'broadcastcomp.uno.zip'.
 - This will add the extension to your OOo.
 - You can now follow the step by step instructions given in this report to
reproduce the bug.

Rafiq

Just for a followup on this. It seems the bug is fixed for OOO300m15(Build:9379)
on all OS. Well, at least I could not reproduce it. Can anyone confirm on this.

[sc-issues] [Issue 98025] OO causes corruption in Ex cel files with combo boxes

I did manage to reproduce the bug.
  - I saved the attachment in excel and managed to open it in Excel 2003 or in
Excel 2007 without any problem. But after opening it in OOo 2.4.1 or 3.0 , when
I tried to open it back in excel 2003 , as mentioned by daveytee, it says the
file is corrupt. In a different machine, I repeated the test and when I tried to
open it in Excel 2007, it let me open the file but all I got was garbage.
  - I did create a simple spread sheet in Excel 2007 without any combo box in it
and repeated the test and everything went well. So, it is possible that the
macro(s) associated with the combo box in OOo may be causing some problems.
  - In any case, as far as I am concerned, the bug is now CONFIRMED.

Rafiq

I tried this with
  - OOO300m15(Build:9379) & OOo 2.41 --> on Ubuntu 8.10
  - OOO300m15(Build:9376) & OOo 2.3  --> on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3
  - OOO300m15(Build:9379) -->on Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
 - on both 32 bit and 64 bit machines
but failed to reproduce your bug. I was wondering whether it has anything to do
with bundling OOo with other extra features !!.

I am a bit confused with the status of this issue since the status is still
"NEW". Anyhow, I did manage to reproduce the bug from your file under
- SUSE LINUX 10.0 --> OOo 2.0
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 --> OOo 2.3 and
- Ubuntu 8.10 --> OOo 2.4.1

I found that, it did not matter whether I changed the left or the right
equation, the other one was affected. For the scaling problem, I found that if I
replace the right equation by the letter i.e. 'a' it is the right side, not the
left equation, that gets strangely rescaled although both of them got changed to
'a'. As it was found by others, the problem can be fixed by starting the whole
equation/presentation from the scratch. But I was wondering if anyone out there
managed to fix this bug without it from the scratch!!
