I don't know how to tell whether that's newer or older than Beta 2, but it's within a few days of it. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 22453] Unwanted-jump to cursor
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=22453 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Aug 11 17:17:21 + 2008 --- I'm still seeing it in DEV300m23 (Build:9326) which I think is within a few days of beta 2. I'm also seeing other problems with mousewheel scrolling, e.g. sometimes the document zooms in or out (when I definitely don't have any modifier keys pressed). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 22453] Unwanted-jump to cursor

I assumed it was autosave, but perhaps not (has anyone tried turning off autosave to see if the problem goes away?) Just now I loaded a Recent document, it opened it with the cursor more or less where it had been when I last saved; then after about half a minute (while I didn't even have focus in the OOo window) it jumped two or three pages down, definitely NOT where the cursor had been last time. Where I see it most often, though, is after saving. It goes like this: finish typing, hit Ctrl-S. It takes maybe 10-20 seconds to save before the progress bar disappears. As soon as the progress bar goes away, I use the mousewheel to scroll down and continue proofreading. I typically get two or three pages down (maybe half a minute) when suddenly it jumps back to where the cursor is. and I have to repeat the scrolling down and finding my place. Is there an operation that typically happens half a minute or a minute after saving which could possibly cause jumping back to the cursor position? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The dup bug's summary is not very clear, [notes2]open word document and directly save to odt, and I guess notes2 didn't match notes. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I open a file.doc file in which someone has added a comment near the beginning of the document, then save immediately as file.odt. Exit, then read file.odt with OOo3b or OOo2.4.1: they all show that there's a comment there, but they all show it as blank. What the person actually commented is gone. Saving that file.odt as file2.doc then reading it with Word 2003 also shows the comment as blank. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 6193] Notes hard to see and edit
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=6193 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 26 14:10:53 -0700 2006 --- Metoo. Comments are by far the most painful aspect of trying to use OOo to collaborate with MS Word users. My priorities are: 1. Word wrap both in the navigator and the comments field, since those are the only ways of actually reading comments. 2. Some way of seeing comments in their location in the document, preferably colored differently according to who made the comment. I don't really care if it's balloons in the margins or some sort of highlighting in the text, I just want some way of telling they're there. (Sometimes now there are tiny yellow boxes, but often if they're there at all they're no more than one pixel wide; anyone who can see that when scrolling down through a document has better eyes than I do.) 3. As long as the navigator is the only way of seeing notes, please keep the order of comments there constant (unless the user specifies otherwise). Currently they periodically jump to new positions without warning, which makes it very difficult to step through comments one by one making sure each one has been addressed. Ideally, even make it possible for the user to specify the order (order by position in the document, by creation date or by last modified date), though always ordering by position in the document would be enough. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
