[sw-issues] [Issue 36594] date field badly imported
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=36594 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jun 15 01:01:16 -0700 2006 --- Hi, I also encounter the same problem when importing / exporting to MS Office forth and back. This happens with Ooo 2.0.2 in Ubuntu 6.06. I have another hint : the problem is that the date format is imported with escaped /. If I : - double click on a wrongly imported date (shows as : dd/01/ ) - I see a format like : dd/12/ - go to 'additional format' at the end of the list - go to the wrongly imported format (that is dd/12/ in my case) - Format code field shows : dd\/MM\/ - but I don't seem to be able to edit it (well, I can edit, but it is not saved) Hope this can help solve this quite annoying bug, when working with 'still using old proprietary software' business partners :-) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Use case is : - I want to put a table in a header to handle information such as date of creation, author, logo and so on in a structured manner - I don't want an empty line under the table, since I already have a blank space between the header and the main text - I don't want to have to set the font size to 2 to avoid loosing so much space and giving an unclean feeling - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. OOo doesn't lock anymore with this variable set... Weird, isn't it ? Stuff found on google related to this kind of workaround relate to any kind of software (netscape, kde, squid, ...). Does this mean there is a bug somewhere in OOo, occuring in certain circumstancies (not precisely known to me) when using malloc ? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. By the way, is the fact that OOo always insert an empty paragraph after a table considered a feature ? It is not convinient when you use a table in a page header for example (which is very common practice for a logo, date of creation, project name, ...), as you have to set the font size of this empty paragraph to a very little number to avoid loosing to much space... - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This time, it is a .sxw document. And opening both docs on another machine, I can see that in both documents, the problem comes from an image. Removing the image (on the other computer, where it works) and saving the doc resolves the issue on my system. Opening the .sxw faulty document in FileRoller shows me that the image has a .wmf extension and is a 'Microsoft WMV file'. So my problem comes when I try to view a page that contains a Microsoft WMV ebedded image. Does this give an indication of what 'component' on my system might make Ooo 'freeze' ? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I mean that Ooo doesn't react any more, its window is not redrawn anymore, ... But the whole system is fine. So I am currently letting Ooo display the document on page 37, and gnome system monitor says soffice.bin is sleeping. So it might well be a problem with my xserver. But consider I am working in a local environment. So X is running localy on my laptop computer, and I am the only one connected to it. I am on Ubuntu, using xorg 6.8.2 and nvidia-glx binary driver (packaged by Ubuntu in restricted repository). I will let you know the result of letting Ooo try to render in unlimited time... Is there any info you need about my X configuration that might help ? Franck - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
