I had previously voted at Issue 89097, but I was advised that I was
inadvertently voting for skipping the file association step.  I favor returning
the file association step to the installation process.

I agree that the previous step found in 2.4.1 was good.  Although I do know how
to associate file types, I prefer to use OpenOffice.org for the Microsoft file
types.  In the wishlist, it would be nice to have that choice returned.
