If I enter a paragraph into oo writer with tab (\t) characters and save into
html, the tab characters are saved into html literally and they are not wrapped
inside pre elements. As a result, when viewed on a browser the output does not
resemble the original document (tabs are rendered as spaces).

Consider a simple writer document with a sentence like Hello  
There! (see attachment); when this document is saved into HTML and viewed on a
browser, additional white spaces are lost.

This happens because oo writer doesn't convert additional spaces to nbsp;
elements when saving into html.
