still unfixed as gb_JunitTest_add_jar should depend the JavaClassSet on the jar
that is used, and not only the JunitTest. The jar has to be available at compile
time and runtime and not only at runtime.

just being pedantic: my binutils-2.21 ld manpage from 2010-12-18 explicitly
states:
   -rpath-link=dir
   When using ELF or SunOS, one shared library may require another.
   This happens when an "ld -shared" link includes a shared library as
   one of the input files.
   [...]

so at least for recent versions of the GNU toolchain -rpath-link= is perfectly
valid.

This is likely solenv/bin/mkout.pl which seems to be called unconditionally on
every module. mkout also exists with a very obscure error message when there is
no d.lst in the module, which is another good reason to get rid of it for
migrated modules.

mkout -- version: 1.8
mkout: ERROR: can't determine module

gnu mktemp is not required, OSX for example works with a BSD mktemp:

http://hg.services.openoffice.org/cws/gnumake3/file/tip/solenv/gbuild/platform/macosx.mk#l31

So I guess this can simply be fixed in the port without requiring gnu mktemp.

Unfortunately, there is nothing in POSIX about mktemp AFAIK and there is no set
of switches which does what we not on GNU and BSD mktemp, making them
incompatible.

"This looks to me as if you really include the deliverables only. Is this true?"
Yes
"Or is it that everything built will automatically be delivered?"
The interesting stuff is. Executables, Libraries, Resources, Componentfiles and
Packages are always delivered. Other stuff like Objects, Java classes, Unittests
are not by default. If you would want them to be delivered you have to include
them explicitly in a Package. And then the would show up on the list too.

Ause just noted that it would be irritating to have the destination first and
the source second, because the cp usually has "source destination" parameters.
Make OTOH writes this stuff "target : dependency" which is what is the output
below.

Meh, I just saw that issuezilla did break the line between:
xml/component/framework/util/fwk.component
  and
/mycwses/undoapi/solver/300/unxlngx6.pro/workdir/ComponentTarget/framework/util/fwk.component
of cause, i intended those to be on the same line separated by one whitespace.

gbuild already maintains a list with the source and destination of deliverables.
Do you really want the full path of the destination in the output? Maybe it is
better to remove the $(OUTDIR) part and only output the relative path in the
solver of the destination. As the source can come from any of the source
repositories or from the workdir, my suggestion would be to still output a full
path for the source.

Example output for framework:
xml/component/framework/util/fwk.component
/mycwses/undoapi/solver/300/unxlngx6.pro/workdir/ComponentTarget/framework/util/fwk.component
xml/component/framework/util/fwl.component
/mycwses/undoapi/solver/300/unxlngx6.pro/workdir/ComponentTarget/framework/util/fwl.component
...
lib/libfwklx.so
/mycws/undoapi/solver/300/unxlngx6.pro/workdir/LinkTarget/Library/libfwklx.so
...

The root cause are the replacements at gb_Helper_abbreviate_dirs_native:
>
http://hg.services.openoffice.org/DEV300/file/6a873085545b/solenv/gbuild/platform/windows.mk#l202
and that with your setup have $(WORKDIR) being a substring of
$(gb_Helper_WORKDIR_NATIVE) etc.

Probable solution:
Replace (from innermost/first):
- gb_Helper_WORKDIR_NATIVE (cannot be a substring of WORKDIR)
- gb_Helper_OUTDIR_NATIVE (cannot be a substring of OUTDIR)
- gb_Helper_SRCDIR_NATIVE (cannot be a substring of SRCDIR)
- WORKDIR
- OUTDIR
- SRCDIR
- REPODIR
on line 202 instead of the current substitutions.

Hmm:

"/sw/bin/cp: option `--preserve' doesn't allow an argument
Try `/sw/bin/cp --help' for more information."

This suggests that the the GNUCOPY variable has been set to /sw/bin/cp, while
that is not a recent version of GNU cp (or not a version of GNU cp at all, but a
BSD or some other variant).

@maho: Could you provide the output of "/sw/bin/cp --version"?

As a quick workaround you can unset the GNUCOPY in the environment/the
*.Set.sh-file generated by ./configure, in which case the new build system will
fall back to POSIX cp and touch in a safe way. IIRC, the old build system will
simply fall back to whatever cp is in the path (but it still might try to use
non-POSIX features with it and thus fail).

Another workaround would be to provide a recent version of GNU cp -- that will
make certain, that both build system will be able to use it.

Thanks for reporting. The error message suggest that you are in the directory
"/home/maho/DEV300_m96.2/DEV300_m96" (after resolving symlinks) while the build
system assumes the sourcetree in the directory "/home/maho/DEV300_m96" (derived
from the $SOLARSRC/SRC_ROOT variable set in your environment or
Linux*Env.Set.sh), causing the build system to bail out.

@maho: Is either of the directories a symlink to the other? If
/home/maho/DEV300_m96 would be a symlink to /home/maho/DEV300_m96.2/DEV300_m96 I
guess that would explain the root cause as it would be a comparison of a
resolved vs. a unresolved symlink.

Thanks for the hints.
Ok, so we will simply fall back to nothing in this case.
As for -zcombreloc, my google foo suggests it is enabled by default at least
since binutils 2.15.

Unconditionally falling back on some setting that is rather new (dynsort) and
still undocumented in the ld manpage, when configure tells us that ld does not
even support --hash-style=both (and that test looks sensible in configure.in) is
... weird. Not using the feature when we have --hash-style=both support is also
... weird (unless it it enabled by default now, but still).

@pjanik: Do have any insight on this? Or can mmeeks provide some as he seems to
have implemented dynsort for ld?

gbuild will fall back on POSIX (IEEE Std 1003.1-2008) cp and touch when $GNUCOPY
is unset. I dont know how well the old build system handles that.

@pjanik: Could you give that a try?

If that works, configure should check for a GNU cp from at least fileutils 4.1.1
as per:
http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/coreutils/NEWS?root=coreutils&view=markup

That seems to be the first version with --preserve=...

BTW, Murphy strikes again: one version below the first to support it ...

How did it break? Did you try the "make -f Makefile" or running "cd

Best Regards,

Looking good in general. I have not dug too deep in the details yet, but some of
(like the switch of commands for linking exe, shared and static libs) might be
even useful for other platform files after some refinement.

Great work, tono!

@tono: "Do you think it better to give up using precompiled headers with
gcc on wnt as well as un*x?"
>From my point of view, yes, at least for now.

We might take a look at it later, for now I am more concerned to make the build
system rock solid.

Of course, you are free to give it a try it anyway ;). I just assumed it to be
to fragile to try it in the first integration of the build system, esp. assuming
that on *nix platforms the performance gain is rather small. That might be
different for mingw as file i/o hits performance much harder on Windows in
general.

[tools-issues] [Issue 116266] gbuild and precompiled he aders

@tono: Could be done, but maybe it is better to have a separate platform file
for wnt with msvc and wnt with gcc as they are very different per se. Also note
that using precompiled headers on gcc is still very, very fragile and badly
needs better documentation.

Also note that you will need to make precompiled headers work together with
dependency generation: You will want gcc to emit dependencies excluding the
precompiled header and everything that was just pulled in because of the pch.
Otherwise you would need to generate deps in a second additional step either
with gcc or makedepend and that will likely have a lot more negative impact than
the advantage of using pch with gcc.

Additional comment:
If you still want to use the "dumb wrapper" created by:
 http://hg.services.openoffice.org/DEV300/file/ce1b12199f72/Makefile.in
you have to explicitly call "make -f Makefile", however you will get no
parallelization at all (just like you did before).

I just see you used the the "toplevel make" in the OOo root directory. It indeed
builds all modules migrated to the new build system, but does not build the old
modules that are not migrated yet. To build OOo you still have to use build.pl:
 "cd smoketestoo_native && ../solenv/bin/build.pl --all -P4 -- -P4"
or
 "cd instset_native && ../solenv/bin/build.pl --all -P4 -- -P4"

Once all modules are migrated a simple "make" in the toplevel will work.

If you did not call one of those before calling make, this is intended
behaviour. Assuming you did so, I am closing this as invalid for now.

If you did make a full builds with one of the above commands before calling
make, please reopen the bug.

In tools it is expected that you have the basegfx library delivered in the
solver as the basegfx module is named as a dependency in the build.lst of tools.
If you did a build --all before this is a bug in build.pl, because it should
resolve the dependencies correctly. If you did not call a build --all, it is
expected to break, just like when you call to "build" (without --all) in tools
did before.

So did you call "build --all" before to get all dependencies?

@sb: Yes. I figured that out too yesterday, but did not want to reply to myself.
The problem seems to be that the TerminateListener:
- calls disposing, which is mutex-protected (good) and then calls terminate
without mutexprotection (bad)
- it does not call join after calling terminate
- in addition, it seems Windows might need special care as per:
http://svn.services.openoffice.org/opengrok/xref/Current%20%28trunk%29/sal/qa/osl/process/osl_Thread.cxx#termAndJoinThread

Sweet irony: It looks like the mutex that is protecting the service factory from
being used while being destroyed and vice versa at:
http://svn.services.openoffice.org/opengrok/xref/Current%20%28trunk%29/extensions/source/oooimprovement/onlogrotate_job.cxx#130
is itself already unusable at this point in the shutdown.
Proposed fix: add another
  if(m_ServiceFactory.is())
before trying to setup the guard for the lock. There still will be a race
condition between this check and having the lock, but how should that be avoided
when locks and mutexes are already unavailable at this point?

Please check if this is actually required anymore as there seems to be little
use to it. If it still is needed reassign the issue back to me, otherwise please
resolve it as WORKSFORME.

Make all libraries linking against the pathutils object to link directly to the

--- Additional comments from b_michael...@openoffice.org Mon Dec 6

@fs: IMHO there is little worth in targets of issues that have not been started
yet, as the environment is way to volatile to draw any conclusion from that. I
see your point about targets being the wrong field to investigate for issues
after integration. So this is more or less about the relative short timeframe
between "started" and "resolved". Once an issue is started it will belong to one
cws or another and all will be integrated with all other issues in that cws.
Thus is target of the issue is the 'shortest' of all issues of the cws, and will
be changed either for no or for all issues on a cws. Thus is should at least be
possible to retarget all issues on a cws in one step.

Updated summary accordingly.

the X11 header guards in vcl/unx/inc/dtint.hxx have recently renamed. I
successfully compiled the version by removing the #ifndef _XLIB_H_ block.
There is a however a cleaner solution in the linked gentoo above.

Root cause for the trouble was that unxmacxi builds with system libxslt. Fixing
issue in gbuild to not depend on executable in $(OUTDIR) in that case.

When building componentfiles with xsltproc, svl needs to depend on libxslt
otherwise it is pure luck to succeed.

@Bartosz,mst: I am assuming you want get the changes into the master with cws
svarray, right? I am asking because mst did review some of the changes as
patches. Those where not merged into an existing cws, right?

I am currently on vacation, but will help with the QA stuff ASAP when I return.
If you have urgent requests in the meantime please ask mst. I will be lurking
here, but on a vacation my response time might be subpar. ;)

As I do not see your name yet on:
http://www.openoffice.org/copyright/copyrightapproved.html
you might consider following the steps at:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Sun_Contributor_Agreement
because that might take some time. Stefan Taxhet will help
you there if any questions arise.

[sw-issues] [Issue 62295] very slow (37 minutes) to load small (77KB) .sxw file

I fixed the issue with the bookmark creation, however loading this doc is still
awfully slow. I see a lot of hint array operations -- no wonder judging by the
description of the content.xml by es. Given that the document is rather
pathological I am tempted to close the issue as WONTFIX.

@qa: the original bug description (on IRC) was:
"I have a BASE file in a Windows network me and a few colleagues are working
with the .odb but I'm the only one that builds or changes forms when my
colleagues leave the BASE file I assumed that it should be no problem to edit
the forms but that is not the case and editing is only possible after the
colleagues exit their quickstarters"

fs commented: "note that you can simplify the scenario by just working with the
.odb like your colleagues do, and then check whether you can rename the file in
the Windows explorer -- If you can't, then you hit the bug"

This is why being unable to rename is a bug: It hints at problems in the file
locking.

Hi Bartosz,

I have not tested the stuff, the changes in your cws look like a good solution!
I see that cws svarray currently does not have a qa rep yet. Do you have anyone
at hand for that? How do you intend to proceed with the cws (e.g. do you still
want to do other work in it)? If you are pretty much finished, we would just
need to resync to a current milestone, build on the tinderboxes and then do some
testing to get it in the master.

There is the idea:

namespace sw { namespace undo {

class UndoSuppresor
{
public:
UndoSuppresor(IDocumentUndoRedo* io_pUndoRedo)
: m_pUndoRedo(io_pUndoRedo)
, m_bOldState(io_pUndoRedo->DoesUndo())
{
m_pUndoRedo->DoUndo(false);
};
~UndoSuppresor()
{ m_pUndoRedo->DoUndo(m_bOldState); };
private:
IDocumentUndoRedo* const m_pUndoRedo;
const bool m_bOldState;
}

instead of writing:

BOOL bUndo = pDoc->DoesUndo();
pDoc->DoUndo(false);
... something ...
pDoc->DoUndo(bUndo);

one would write:
{
UndoSuppresor(p_Doc);
... something ...
}

SwDoc/PageDescManager should handle creation of duplicate names correctly (i.e.
not creating duplicate named page descriptions).
