For some fonts (Times, Helvetica, Courier, probably others), line spacing is
too tight, text is very difficult
to read. Line spacing is also much tighter than in other Mac applications
(TextEdit, MS Word). Importing
MS Word documents into OpenOffice using one of the above fonts require
significant adjustments in line
spacing to be usable.

To reproduce the bug, create a page full of empty paragraphs and switch on line
numbering. If you choose
Times as the font for all paragraphs, you can fit 60 lines on an A4 page,
while if you switch to Times
New Roman, you end up with 53 lines. On other Mac applications, Times and
Times New Roman behave
very similarly. (I'll try to attach a sample file once I have submitted this
issue.)

Dear all,

on my system (Mac OS 10.6.2, , iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo, HFS+), I cannot use path
names containing
characters outside the ASCII range with OpenOffice.

This may be related to the issue described in bug report issue no. 92697, but
since this is tagged
unconfirmed and occurred in another OS version, I think that it should be
reported.

Trying to open a file with a non-ascii character in the path name gives a modal
dialog with a ... does
not exist message. This happens if I open the file by double-clicking it in
the Finder, or by using
open from the Terminal, or via the File Open... dialog. (To reproduce the
error, just copy an
OpenOffice text or spreadsheet document and rename it, say, ä.odt resp.
ä.ods - the first character
is an umlaut a, an a with two dots on it, Unicode 00E4.)

Trying to save a file with a non-ascii character (say, umlaut-a again) results
in a file %E4.odt. Trying
to open that file in OpenOffice (by double-clicking in the Finder) causes
OpenOffice to crash.
Surprisingly, though, it is possible to open such a file via File Recent
Documents.

In my opinion, this bug is a major show-stopper for OO in non-English speaking
communities. Mac
users are used to be able to use their native language characters in file and
folder names that many of
them will not even think about renaming their files and folders and instead
consider OO badly broken
and unusable. Therefore I think that this needs to be investigated soon.

Regards,

bkh2

Open new Calc sheet, make sure AutoInput is activated.
Type Test (upper case!) in cell A1, then try to input test (lower case)in
cell B1. As soon as you type
the initial t, the word will autocomplete to test (lower case). But as soon
as you type enter, the
text will turn into upper case. This happens even if you ignore AutoInput and
enter the whole word. I
have disabled all auto correction features. If you enter a lower case word
first, then try to enter it upper
case, the second word will change from lower case to upper case.

Suggestions:
1) only suggest words with matching case (my preference)
2) do not turn words into uppercase/lowercase after enter

Thanks,

Burkhard.
