I made these attempts:
1) I created a new user and OO.org started.
2) I deleted my "user" (and his home dir) and then I re-created him.
Now is all ok. OO.org starts, but I haven't understood where the problem was.

@cyber_confusion: I am able to start OO as root. It doesn't work as user. I
removed the openoffice.org dir in the /opt dir, the user dir and then I made a
fresh installation but the issue is the same.

@kendy: I don't see the splash boot figure!
If I start OO as root, the last strace /opt/.../soffice output line is:
waitpid(-1,
 and I have the OO main window.
Instead, if I start OO as user, strace /op/.../soffice gives me:
waitpid(-1, 0xbfce3e78, WNOHANG)= -1 ECHILD (No child processes)
sigreturn() = ? (mask now [])
rt_sigaction(SIGINT, {SIG_DFL}, {0x807a090, [], 0}, 8) = 0

I don't know if you understand what I'm trying to say (beg your pardon for my
bad english)

I don't have OO! There is no OO process!
I don't have the "OO main window". It is like OO "close" itself after the
startup!

@kendy: I tried both your suggestions. It doesn't work. As root I have no
problem.
I tried another window manager (now I'm using kde 3.5.2, upgraded 2-3 days ago;
before I hadn't this issue) but I have the same issue.
