Another sort of change that does not get detected can be seen if you add a
number at the start of an existing heading and hit enter - it will decide that
you want numbering and put in the next number for you, but if you undo that to
get rid of the numbering, it has lost the fact that you originally made a change
to add the number in the previous line. (However, if you have added the heading
as well it doesn't seem to do this.)

Also, if something you do changes a hyphen to an n-dash automatically, it shows
the n-dash as inserted, but not a deleted hyphen; you can then delete that
n-dash and it will show that you have made no change to the original, while
actually having lost a hyphen.

The other undetected changes listed in previous comments still seem to be the
case in OO3.

[sw-issues] [Issue 82591] findreplace with track ch anges

As far as I can see the problem is that writer doesn't treat stuff that is
deleted when 'track changes' is on as really deleted - a related problem is that
if you delete a word and start typing directly after it, that word will be
included in what is looked at for 'autocomplete' - so if you delete 'in' and
insert 'for' straight after without a space, writer will suggest 'information'
(and no, if I type 'for' on its own it won't suggest 'formation'). This
shouldn't be the way it works...

[sw-issues] [Issue 9661] Use margins to track change s

Like others who have commented, I use this feature a lot for proof reading, and
I think that the comments in the margin in OO3 are a great improvement. However,
I am concerned that if all changes are put in the margin I will have serious
space problems in the margin. Some of the stuff I have to read will have a
average of one or more changes per line, and at times even the comments end up
squashed, let alone all the other changes. If what people are suggesting is
implemented, there has to be either some way of dealing with over-full margins,
or a option to have additions/deletions marked as they currently are (ie not in
the margin).

[sw-issues] [Issue 88879] Improve tracked changes

I would just like to say that I agree that it is not nearly as usable as in
Word. The comments issue has been improved since the last post yes, but I deal a
lot with documents with a lot of changes, and find it a real pain trying to use
the 'Accept/Reject' window to accept or reject changes. From memory, Word has
these options available in a toolbar, and also on right-click on a change.
Please can we move towards that and make OOo even more usable.
