Jean-Baptiste, I am sorry, but I have to declare total bankruptcy on this issue.
Meantime, I have switched to work for Red Hat, switched distributions, and there
is no bibus for Fedora so far, and I have no time to package it (moreover,
Zotero is better).

I am not sure how you call CLOSED/INSUFFICIENT_DATA in this bugzilla, but that's
what IMHO this bug should be closed with.

[sw-issues] [Issue 66070] "Don't indent for the fir st PARAPGRAPH in the text block" option

There is now discussion about this on comp.text.tex
(http://groups.google.com/group/comp.text.tex/browse_thread/thread/4e8eca0058e4cc7e/)

@regina
Of course, I know that I can do that, but I think that I should not be forced
to use two different styles to achieve this -- following the principle
of "separation of presentation from content" (aka "structured authoring" aka
WYSIWYM) OpenOffice.org should not force me to change structure of the
document in order to achieve different presentation. There is nothing
different about these paragraphs, except that because OOo (and M$-Word and
every other wordprocessor I can think of) is not smart enough I have to keep
them separately.

Besides these theoretical reasons (and conversion to structured data formats
like Docbook or HTML, where you have to keep one more rule to eliminate this
first-line-not-indented style), it makes it major pain when I am editing (or
maintaining -- wasn't OOo and ODT supposed to be about long term storage of
documents) such documents, because then I have restyle this paragraph whenever
I move it. This should be a rule which is part of OOo logic, not something I
would emulate by different styles.

Hi,

typographically correct formatting (at least in the United States) is that the
first paragraph after heading (or a list) should not be intended although the
rest of the body paragraphs are. It is actually the default in LyX (front end
for LaTeX) which I use currently. I guess (and hope) it shouldn't be that
difficult to do it in any other wordprocessor, but surprisingly nobody does
it, so I have to stay with ugly cludges like firstBodyParagraph style, which
is the same as bodyParagraph style, but with no indentation of the first line.

Thanks a lot for considering this,

Matej

Hi,

when trying to use bibus (http://bibus-biblio.sf.net) with OOo native
interface (i.e., setting up bibus database as an external bibliographic source
via ODBC) I cannot change OOo to read data from particular table in the
database, but OOo always picks the alphabetically first table from the
database (which is not the correct one in the bibus case), even though all
databases (including the one OOo picked up) where checked off in Tools/Filter
Tables of OOBase, and even though I tried to use the roll down button in the
Bibliographic databases manager. Unfortunately, that makes bibliographic
support in OOo unusable for me and thus (I am a PhD student writing my thesis)
it makes OOo as such unusable, so I have to stick with LyX for time being.

BTW, it doesn't matter whether the ODBC connection is set up from SQLite
(which has somehow unreliable ODBC driver, true) or from MySQL (which should
be OK). See http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/tmp/ooo-biblio/bibquery.png for
illustration of the incorrect behavior of OOo, and
http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/tmp/ooo-biblio/oobase.png to show that OOBase can
read the database correctly.

Any workaround?

mozilla-firefox 1.0.7-1, mozilla-thunderbird 1.0.7-3, libnss3 1.7.12-1), but
Writer has not find it. Only when I used

Writer was able to find it. However, whenever I tried to certificate my
document, Writer crashed. Is it the same problem as in this issue, or should I
file a separate one?

And actually even redefining default.css (copy to

/usr/lib/openoffice/help/en/default.css) doesn't make me much good. Even the
attached default.css with body {font-size:9pt;} is still huge (see attached

Can I install your build of OOo into separate location and not destroy my
current configuration?

Sorry, when talking about month, I meant actually date -- this US table, so
11/12/05 means 12th November 2005.

Hi,

when importing spreadsheet tables from Peoplesoft (either as CSV, or Excel) I
get weird error -- in SOME cells date field get changed: month gets decreased
by one. So instead of 11/12/05 I get 11/11/05 in the OOCalc. It happens only
in some rows.

Unfortunately, I cannot file an example, because it contains highly personal
data, and when trying to reproduce with a subset, the import was correct. This
makes use of OOCalc for me highly questionable.

Any thoughts?

Matej Cepl
