OOo-dev 3.3.0 DEV300m77 (Build:9496) Windows 7 32-bit Steps to reproduce: 1: Open Microsoft Power Point 2007 2: Create a new blank presentation 3: Save blank presentation to disk as a 2003 .ppt file 4: Start Impress leaving PowerPoint open: Start-Programs-Ooo-dev3.3-Impress 5: In the Impress wizard select Open Existing Project 6: Click the Open Button and a new window should show up 7: Navigate to the saved file and open it 8: A new box should pop up saying that the file is already open: click Open Copy 9: Click Slide Show menu and start the slide show 10: A new window should pop up displaying that Open Office has crashed and telling you that your document will be recovered I have been able to successfully reproduce this many times with existing files. Upon further testing it is possible to reproduce this without having to create a new PowerPoint document every time. I also tested if this is a more generic error rather than some specific interaction with PowerPoint, and it appears that the only constraint is that the document is opened as not being able to be shared with other applications. These steps will also cause Impress to crash: 1: Start-Programs-OOo-dev3.3-Impress 2: Click open button 3: Open an existing PowerPoint presentation 4: Leaving the first impress running, open a new instance of impress: Start- Programs-OOo-dev3.3-Impress 5: Click the open button 6: Open the same document you opened in the first impress session 7: You will now see the message saying the document is already open. Click the Open Copy button 8: Click on the slide show menu and then the Slide Show option to start the slide show 9: You should now see a message indicating that OpenOffice has crashed and will attempt to recover your document when it restarts. I also tested this bug with a .odp instead of a .ppt file using the steps listed above and it does not crash. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 93761] insert- Movie and Sound w on't work
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=93761 --- Additional comments from ckoc...@openoffice.org Sun Jun 6 01:51:28 + 2010 --- I was able to partially replicate this bug. Here are the different file types, operating systems and open office versions that were tested while attempting to replicate this bug: OO 3.3 XP AVI - works Ouicktime movie - did not work ( movie taken from a digital camera, sound too), format type not supported divx - works mp4 - music file, format type not supported mkv - dvd movie, format type not supported OO 3.2 OSX 10.5 mov - digital camera movie with sound, crashed OO when trying to resize it. Stop trying to resize, works mp4 - works avi - works wma - music video, format type not supported mp3 - works OO 3.2 ubuntu 10.04 avi - works mpg - works flv - works mp3 - works The steps that were followed in the testing of each type: 1: Open a new presentation in Impress 2: Select Insert menu and click on movie and sound 3: Locate and select the file to be inserted 4: Wait and check the result of the media being added into the presentation I believe much of this issue is related to Open Office simply not supporting every possible codec that could be used in media playback. However some of the common types did not work on some systems, for instance wma worked on Windows XP but not on OSX but everything worked on Ubuntu 10.04. This could be due to third party libraries that Open Office is dependent upon for rendering the media. However I do not posses significant knowledge of how Open Office renders its media and if it relies upon any system specific libraries. For follow up testing to perhaps narrow the scope on this bug even more a useful test would be to test specific codecs on each of the systems to understand exactly which one is not being implemented or is inconsistently working on different platforms. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 111523] draw PDF master export
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=111523 User ckocsis changed the following: What|Old value |New value Summary|draw PDF master export|draw PDF master export --- Additional comments from ckoc...@openoffice.org Sun May 30 03:03:36 + 2010 --- I could not reproduce this error in either Draw or Impress. Version DEV300m77 (Build:9496) Windows 7 32-bit In my testing I followed the steps posted to reproduce the erroneous condition. When I was unable to reproduce the condition I tested these conditions: 1) Multiple linked images on the slide with one linked master image 2) Linked and non-linked images on the slide with one linked master image 3) Multiple linked images on the master with one linked image on the slide 4) Linked and non-linked images on the master with one linked image on the slide All of the images that I put into either the master or the slide were displayed as I placed them in draw or impress. I used .jpg files to test the exporting, perhaps there is a specific image format that causes this that I did not check. Can you give more specific information about the exact image types? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
