Not only middle horizontal items should stay on the same line but the other ones too. So, 1, 2, 3 and a should stay on the same line; 7, 8, 9 and fraction c/d - too. After that both matrixes should have the same height. Hence, brackets (if needed) will too. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. We have two matrixes which have corresponding sizes for desired mathematical operation. In my example (look the attachment) I used popular case: square matrix is multiplied by a vector. In this case, 4, 5, 6 and b (middle horizontal items) should stay on the same line. Math aligns both matrixes by their centers, but it isn't correct. The task is to show Math, that this two matrixes depend one from another. Then Math should align both matrixes correctly - by their middle horizontal items. The same situation - while using more than two matrixes and using another mathematical operations. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It seems not very hard to fix it. Counting characters without spacings is useful for translators: they can count characters and decide, how much the translation costs. It's also useful for the students, who study foreign language(s) and/or translation subjects (e.g. technical translation). One of the tasks is to translate articles, which total length is e.g. 2 characters (without spacings). We see five duplications and 10 votes, aehrlich wrote a workaround macro. Dear developers, please consider to resolve this RFE ASAP. My opinion: in OOo 3.0 this RFE should be implemented. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I use text-based input method and this way is for me faster than using "keyboard-mouse-keyboard-mouse". I've spent only about two hours to learn OOo Math basics. I make several documents with equations and I say, that command-line method is for me better, than GUI input, for example, in MSEE. Just two hours of learning, men, just two hours - and it will be OK. On the other hand I understand, that the GUI input will help people, which wish to migrate from MSO to OOo. So I think, that command-line input must exist ever and GUI input is a useful feature for "immigrants". - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But it isn't. In Draw i can make a workaround: first draw a circle (or any other figure), then drag into it Math object (equation). So I already have a Math object inside a Draw object. The situation (look the attachment). I've made a system of three equations (using stack). I want to place lbrace (which vertical size equals to two equations) bottom left beside the second and the third equation. Math allows me only to place lbrace in the middle: the vertical alignment is middle anyway. There are some other ways to solve the problem: for example, to separate the first equation from the rest ones. But I need all the three equations in one stack. I think, it should be good to make possible a vertical alignment (maybe alignu, alignd and alignm). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 66678] Changing equation spacings

I have a text document with a lot of equations. I want to change left and right spacings of Math Objects only in the selected area of the text. But in this selected area there are not only one equation but several ones. I've pushed F11 (Styles and Formatting) and saw there a frame style called "Formula". I've made a duplicate style "Formula1" but on the tab "Wrap" I've set zero left and right spacings. Then I tried to apply "Formula1" to the selected area. It didn't work. Maybe because Writer can't apply frame styles to the paragraphs. But also I can't select equations only, even using Ctrl or/and Shift. So I think that it should be possible to change spacings in the way: selecting an area with equations, then apply the desired frame style to Math Objects. This enhancement should be very useful for large documents with a lot of equations. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I'd like to edit fields using only keyboard, not mouse. To edit a field I must press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to open a dialog window where I can enter required values. In MS Word I can edit fields directly in text. It is not always good but many users say that it isn't comfortable to press Ctrl+Shift+F9 every time they need edit the fields and then in the dialog to search for a required field. For me it isn't a big problem but for many other users it is. Therefore I've set P4, not P5. I think there should be a setting somewhere in "Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org Writer" to select, either editing fields directly in text or opening a dialog window to edit the field (like now). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I've made a lot of works in OOo Writer using OOo Math objects. The version I use is 1.1.3. One day I gave my friend some works. He has OOo 2.0. When he opened it he saw some incorrect equations. Now about the problem. In OOo Math 1.1.3 I can type "20sqrt 2" and "20 sqrt 2" to see the equation "20 multiply by square root of 2". But when I type "20 sqrt 2" instead "20sqrt 2" these is a space between 20 and square root of 2. It doesn't look good. Therefore I use "20sqrt 2". But in OOo Math 2.0 there is another situation. "20 sqrt 2" works correct but "20sqrt 2" works incorrect: on my display I see the text "20 sqrt 2" and no square roots! The same situation is with using "over", "cdot" and so on. Why it works so? It's a problem if compatibility, isn't it? And I ask: why? Thank you! P.S.: Thank you for OOo Math! It's much more convenient than MSO's embedded equation editor. I've understood it a long time ago, said about OOo to my friends and some of they said that they will use OOo Math instead MSO's editor to make their mathematical works. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
