Last time I attended to a congress, there were ~300 speakers, each with their own Powerpoint presentation. There was no way to "install" any kind of software, nor to plug in your pendrive and, of course, OpenOffice was not installed, so... guess why all of the attendants used M$?... because there was no easy way to guarantee that your Impress presentation was going to run smoothly.
