I do this by selecting it from Nautilus on Ubuntu. You are right, I should have been more specific. Running OOo on Ubuntu 6.06LTS: 1. From the Ubuntu Places menu, select Connect to Server and create an SSH connection to your SSH server 2. Open the new 'place' from the Ubuntu Desktop, enter your ssh server password when prompted, and navigate to an .odt document 3. Open the document by double clicking it 4. OOo prompts for password (why? I have already logged in) 5. OOo opens the document in read-only mode (why? the ssh logged on user has rw rights on the document) 6. Press the Print button from the standard toolbar and click OK to print it Result: the print dialog is closed (as should be) but nothing gets printed. regards, Bart. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sc-issues] [Issue 59220] OOo Save As Excel97/2000/ XP - open in Excel gives msg not enough memo ry
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=59220 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Dec 18 15:23:54 -0800 2005 --- I tested a bit more and it looks as if Excel2000 thinks the sheet is much bigger than OOo thinks it is. I isolated the problem to one sheet in the document, which I will upload. When I open the .ods file in OOo Calc and press the Ctrl-End key combination in sheet Wk40, the active cell becomes O49. When I save the OOo Calc document in Excel97/2000/XP format and open that file in Excel2000 and press the Ctrl-End key combination in wheet Wk50, the active cell becomes IV31993. So the problem seems to be that OOo writes in the .xls file that there is something in cell IV31993. If, in OOo, I delete all columns after column O and all rows after row 49 and save that as an Excel97/2000/XP file, pressing Ctrl-End in Excel2000 maken cell O49 the active cell. I think this explains the large file size and the Excel error message saying that it's out of memory. Appearently Excel has a problem loading 60 sheets containing so many columns and rows. The xls file size *without* the columns and rows removed is 673 KB. The xls file size *with* the columns and rows removed is 37,5 KB. cheers Bart. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To test, when I open the document in Excel, the initial mem usage is 434MB. While Excel is loading it it goes to 472MB and then the Not enough memory message is displayed. So this would have nothing to do with a real lack of RAM I'd think. Could it be related to WinXP and/or Office2000? Can anyone else confirm the problem? [sc-issues] [Issue 46860] Opening html document in Calc opens Writer/Web
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46860 User eombah changed the following: What|Old value |New value Status|CLOSED|UNCONFIRMED Resolution|INVALID | --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Apr 13 07:34:38 -0700 2005 --- I don't agree. You say: So how should the file open dialog know that you want to open a HTML File with Calc instead of the default application if you do not select the HTML Filter for Calc from the dropdown box ? I start *Calc*, within Calc I select to open an html document. I do not expect Calc to open different applications. If it doesn't support html documents it should tell me so and maybe give me the option to open it in writer/web. The thing I use a lot in web applications is that my cgi program generates html output and I send the header application/vnd.ms-excel out on to the browser so that the user sees the result in a spreadsheet application. When the user has MS Office installed, Excel is opened with the imported html. Now in OO, this action results in the document being opened in writer/web where I just want to present the data in a spreadsheet. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
