Only useful workaround so far is to export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen in .bashrc somewhere. It seems like the document formats tend to assume white backgrounds as a default. Eg, you can set the foreground color to a value you expect to be visible, regardless of the system's configured background color. (partially ot, but related). This is not an enhancement request, it's a defect. Does OO try to mimic the theme's colors for the document presentation in other frameworks? If a document has dark text on a light background, it should show up as dark text on a light background, even if i'm on a weird gtk theme.
