Yes, I know it sounds strange.

Autofilter does not show cells with the date range 1sep-12sep of any year.

To reproduce:
1 create two columns, one with some text and one with the date 25 august some
year. Now drag the date field down to create dates past 15 september the same
year.

2 Apply autofilter and try and select a date. You will be able to select 1
september, but nothing is shown in the list (the whole autofiltered list is
hidden)

3 If you select some date before 1 sep or after 12 sep, the corresponding lines
are shown.

Expected results: The corresponding line should be shown.

OK after some trial and error I've found that this bug depends on the LANGUAGE
of the cells (Format | Number | Language):

If the Language is set to English (USA) then all is OK, you can apply whatever
format you want and the dates are selected as they should be.

However, if you select whatever other language it fails to display the date
ranges mentioned above. (well I tried with English (Great Britan), Norwegian
Bokmål and Spanish (Spain)).

Maybe this helps the coders? :)

I see copy to filtered list works. Now, dragging should too. I won't comment
more cause I see from history this is a very old bug. If only I could do
something to help out.

Autofill by drag overwrites both visible and hidden cells when used in
autofiltered selection.

If you COPY a value, then PASTE that into a cell range in the autofiltered list,
only the VISIBLE cells are overwritten. But with Autofill (dragging the little
black square downwards) both visible and hidden cells are overwritten. Also when
holding Ctrl to make all cells

Expected: overwrite only the visible cells.

How to reproduce:
1 take a list and autofilter it.
2 select something in the autofilter selectors, so that some rows here and there
are hidden
3 pick some cell in the autofiltered range, and drag the black autofill square
down some cells
4 remove autofiltering from the list and observe damaged [ex-hidden] cells.

OK have to admit I don't actually know if this is a bug or a feature, but since
it behaves differently on (1)copy/paste from (2)Ctrl+Autofill I file this is a
bug. To me the two techniques looks the same and I would expect them to have the
same result.

Yup I think Quechua is best.

I see that
http://watchtower.org/languages.htm
list Kichwa with the english name _Quichua_.

While
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quechua#Language.2FDialect_Groupings
says the english name is _Quechua_.

I don't know which is correct, but to me all the Quechuan languages are so
similar that it would be less confusing leaving it as commited:

Quechua (Ecuador)

I open this issue on the I10n component in addition to lingucomponent
(http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=99603), because I see a
similar issue has been successfully resolved for Quechua
(http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=80114).

Please add to the language list selection box Kichwa (Ecuador) represented by
the code qu_EC

An OOOv3 (.oxt) dictionary has been written
(http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/KichwaSpellchecker) and is
under improvement.
However, it's hijacking the Norwegian (Bokmal) language code until Kichwa can
be selected in the language list selection box.

Sorry to half-double-post this; I couldn't figure out how to reassign issue
#99603 to I10n like the resolved issue #80114.

Hi the Kichwa academy is located in Ambato, province of Chimborazo.
http://www.dineib.edu.ec/kamak.htm

However, Shukllachishka Kichwa (unified Kichwa) is a new ortography for all the
Quichua dialects in Ecuador. There are plans for making Kichwa an official
language, and a unified orthography is needed.

So I wrote to SIL.org to open a new language identifier for the Unified Kichwa,
but the answer was no: http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/criteria2.html says
quite clearly that new orthographies are not given new codes.

In total, since
1) it seemed incorrect to assign the unified Kichwa to only one of the dialects
and
2) Kichwa is [probably] becoming an official language for Ecuador,

I assumed qu_EC would be the most accurate description. qu for a Quechua
dialect, EC for Ecuador.

If we have to choose one specific dialect, I assume qxl would be closest due
to the fact that it is the dialect spoken around Ambato, where the Kichwa
academy is located. However, as stated above, the unified Kichwa is not pure
Salasaca Quichua, but a unification.

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambato compared to
http://www.ethnologue.com/show_country.asp?name=EC and
http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=que

The summary should really be: 'Please add Kichwa (Ecuador) to language list
box.'. Now, I don't find out how to change it myself, so I add this comment.

The real problem here is not the spellchecker, but the fact that there is no
list box entry to select the spellchecker.

Until the list box entry is added, we have to use Norwegian (Bokmål) to
activate the spellchecker. An ugly hijacking-trick.
A similar issue, but for another language, is

Hi I'm currently developing a spell check dictionary for Kichwa, a variant of
the inca language. Dialects of this language is spoken by a few million people
in Ecuador.

I've got a working small test database, however there is an issue: There is no
entry for Kichwa anywhere (in english possibly Quichua).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quichua

I would suggest a locale/language code of qi-EC (Quichua as spoken in Ecuador)

The closest I get is qu, see Quechua in
http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php

At home I run ubuntu 8.10. Can somehting be done locally do add this language?
As an ugly hack I downloaded english(South Africa) and overwrote the .dic
and .aff files with my Kichwa - it worked!

best,
Arno (new to this :) )

If more than one sheet is selected in the sheets tabs in the bottom, input is
written to all the selected sheets.

Reproduce:
-start a new worksheet/book
-select two sheets (sheet1, sheet2)
-enter test to cell A1 of sheet1

test is written to sheet1.A1 and sheet2.A2

I hope this is not default behaviour. This just ruined quite a few formulas in
multiple sheets for me.

I can confirm this behaviour also with 2.3.0 on ubuntu gutsy. Attached document
has a spacing to contents set to 0.00, but whenever I put/change a border on a
cell, the whole line's spacing to contents is set to default (0.10cm in my
case).

Is this the design (to always set spacing when adding/changing borders)?

I agree. It is good design, actually. If only we knew why the behaviour...
I have seen a dx printer only once; they're not popular here in Norway anyway.
Maybe a little Insert a blank page if needed by duplex printers or something
like that, checked by default maybe. I got very confused anyway. Is there a way
to disable this at present? The only way I find is to do this at Print time:
Go Print, choose Options then uncheck Right pages from the Pages section, to
print only left- [presumably odd-number-] pages.
If someone can get this on the wishlist for UI improvements it would be great,
though. Maybe a line in the help file, too? It doesn't say too much about why
the blank pages.
It's a _bit_ annoying having to remove every second sheet from a big stack of
letters; worse even if someone printed directly to envelope via the
print-fold-and-put-in-envelope-machine... :) 500 unusable letters for every 500
good ones :P
