Yes I agree that shortcuts should not be changed easily but in this case I see
reasons for it.

1. Yes it is CUSTOMABLE but from my experience through the years with IT-users,
they make little changes to the default settings since they often assume the
program works as it is. So the better the default settings are the more
satisfied customers we get.

2. What ”You” need or ”I” need doesn´t prove anything but I assume we ALL can
engage ourselves in improving the OO suite and not belittle anyone. Sarcasm or
irony like this just makes people stop contributing, and I am sure none of us
want that. That only prevents us from improving the OO, which doesn´t serve our
goal.

3. Since Ctrl+PgUp/Dn today is activated first after the header/footer has been
inserted, I think a change to moving to the top of the next/previous page would
help the DISABLED more. They can use it right away.

4. When you have a several pages document I think it helps to know that you end
up at a certain place, the top of the document, when you move around. You don´t
have to think about where on the page you end up. This is also extra convenient
when you see the whole page on the screen.

5. I tried to find another shortcut for moving between body and header/footer
but found none so far. Will continue looking though. Ctrl+H (Header) seems to be
available but Ctrl+F is not, so I´ll keep on looking.

Let´s remember that a person who tests/uses OO can only assume and guess the
response by the market since he can not do a market research. We can ALL be
wrong, and sometimes are of course, but let us have an attitude of helping OO to
improve, instead of ”defending” what it is today. THEN we are open enough to see
that which can be improved.

Today Ctrl + Page Down/Up moves the cursor between the footer/header and the
body.

I WISH THE DEFAULT SETTING INSTEAD WOULD MOVE THE CURSOR TO THE TOP OF THE
NEXT/PREVIOUS PAGE.

I believe many users would be helped a lot in their daily work if that was the
default function, since I would guess it is a much more requested function than
moving between body and footer/header, which is very easy with the mouse.
It would also be of help for Word-users who want to migrate, since it works that
way in Word.

Thanks for a great job with OO!

PS: I know it is possible to reassign shortcuts to macros but that would be too
complicated for most users.

Is there a place where I can specify the EXACT margin for the whole document?

I am not talking about indents.
I am not talking about draging the margin on the ruler which doesn´t show the
exact position.
I am talking about changing to the exact position as you change the tabs or the
indents by double clicking on the ruler and typing in the position.

If there is no way to do that, I believe it is needed in many cases.

PROBLEM: When you drag a tab on the ruler the tab moves pixel by pixel. This
makes it almost impossible to be sure that tabs on different rows/pages have the
exact same position.
Yes, one can dubble click the ruler and type in the position, but that is more
lengthy.

SUGGESTION: Change so that one moves tabs on the ruler in 0,25 cm steps.
I believe this would be an important improvement for most users.

Background color palette

Problem: Today you find per example the different shades of green laying
separately from eachother.
For most users I would guess it is hard to quickly determine what shades there
is of the different colors.

Suggestion: Put the different shades of each color close to eachother.

Lessen the space between the ruler and the top of the document

Problem: A user want to see as much of the document as possible so he/she can
get a better overview and control of the layout. Today I think there is
unnecessary space between the ruler and the top of the document.

Suggestion: Lessen the space to maybe 0,5 cm.
Remember that it is often the little features that convince users they want to
use a program.

Font color button doesn´t start applying the color

Problem: When I press the font color button the color is not applyed from the
cursor position and untill I press the button again. The only way I can use it
is to mark already written text and then choose color with the font color
button.

Suggestion: It would be more consistent if the button worked the same way as the
other font format buttons, like Bold, Italic and so on.

Can Paste a copied object first after unmarking the object.
This differs from what people are used to in other programs.

Plus that the pasted object lies directly on top of the copied object which will
fool some to believe they didn´t get a copy.
