Line spacing is too commonly used to be left off the default Formatting toolbar
in Writer. To solve this we need a button with an extended drop down menu. This
setup will take up less space and be more functional than a single button for
each spacing size.

1. The extended menu should show commonly used line spacing: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0,
2.5,
3.0

2. More... at the end of the menu will take you to the Indents and Spacing
section of the Paragraph formatting window with the Line Spacing menu already
selected.

3. The main part of the button will apply the last used line spacing size to
the
currently selected text.

The tooltip should show the line spacing the button will apply to selected text
if pushed.

I used to use an older version of Corel PerfectOffice and I believe they had
it.
Word and Powerpoint 2002 have it (Tools-Customize-Options tab), but Excel
does
not. The Opera web browser has it by default on some buttons.

MS Office 12 will have a new style of keyboard shortcut tips ( http://blogs.
msdn.com/jensenh/archive/2005/10/13/480568.aspx ).

Also, I would like to say that a table of shortcuts such as this ( http://www.
mozilla.org/support/firefox/keyboard ) would come in handy for many users.

Many users don't know the keyboard shortcuts to do common tasks. To solve this
we should display keyboard shortcuts in the tooltip when hovering over buttons
in toolbars. Whether this is default behavior is open to discussion, but this
should definitely be shown when Extended Tips are enabled and when the What's
This? help feature is enabled (I believe they are both the same).

As an example, let's say a user hovers over the Bold toolbar button. It would
then show: Bold (Ctrl+B)

A lot of mice now have back and forward buttons built onto the side. We should
take advantage of this and enable the buttons for undo and redo functions. Undo
going back, and redo as forward.

If the Gallery or Media Player is turned on by its menu entry and it appears
docked as part of the user interface it's not immediately obvious how to close
it. There should be a method to easily close these such as an X button on the

I confirm this and I've found a work around: right click the numbered or
lettered portion of border and choose row height to change the size.

I've found Excel 2002 limits cell height to be 546 pixels no matter what
resolution you're using.

It's not obvious that Sum= in Calc's status bar can be right clicked and more
choices can be shown (count, average, min, max, etc). There are two ways to
solve this:

1. Have a clickable arrow that displays the choices.
2. Show all the statistics at once.

I think it would be a competitive advantage to list them all at once.

Currently there is a Zoom button on the standard toolbar that opens the Zoom
dialog. I belive a better solution is an edit field combined with a drop down
menu (like the font size field). This way the user would be able to make as many
changes as they want without having to open and reopen the Zoom dialog.

In the edit field a custom zoom value could be entered, and in the drop down
menu there would be the choices available in the zoom dialog (Entire Page, Page
Width, Optimal, 50%, 75%, 100%, 150%, and 200%).
