Please add the ability to put a note (comment) with arrow to any spot in the
active wall of a chart. Also, if a cell content is a data point in a chart, and
the cell has a note (comment)associated with it, provide the ability to toggle
the note (comment) on/off within the chart display.

Thank you. Joe Conner, Poulsbo, WA USA

Inserting a row break fails to cause the print to continue on the next page.
This seems to happen when the scale is set to print a wide spreadsheet set by
width to one sheet (landscape in my case.

I am uploading a test document illustrating this.

I request binary math functions be added to calc.
For example, in cell A1 enter A (without quotes)
and B in cell B1 B (again without quotes) and
in cell C1 you could enter a binary formula (for
example =XOR(A1;B1) (again without quotes) and
it would accept the formula as valid binary math.
All binary operators should be added.

I am attaching a file that the macro fails with the error BASIC runtime error.
 Object variable not set.

This macro works properly on v3.0.0, v2.4.1, and also on the developer v3.1.
Somehow v3.0.1 causes it to fail miserably.

Problem: A calc document without numerous sheets can need Landscape for selected
sheets and Portrait for others. Changing to Landscape in the print preview
modifies all sheets, not just the one being previewed.

Using F11 to bring up the styles does not present a landscape style. Each calc
user in the world wishing to have such a style must build it for themselves.
Landscape is already available in Writer. Why not Calc? This would be a very
valuable enhancement for the available standard Calc styles.

For that matter, Why does F11 in writer produce many more style choices than in
Calc?

I notice that in the stylist (F11) is vastly different in Writer than in Calc.
In the Calc stylist the top right drop-down box is greyed out, so that load
styles is not available. This is a problem for me.

What I want to be able to do is import a style and incorporate it within my own
new document (F-11) dropdown list of styles. This could happen when I receive
a document from another source when it has a style that I would like to use in
my own documents.

Conversely, I want to be able to create a style of my own, and export it so that
my friend can import it into their own default list of styles.

also a bug for the bugzilla) the XNumbers will not execute. I will attach a

[graphics-issues] [Issue 82676] GRAPH LINES DISAPPEAR WHEN LEGEND WAS CHANGED

The data is in rows 1 and 2 on each sheet. The sheet ORIGINAL has two
graphs. The first occupies approximately rows 10 through 20. The second
occupies approximately rows 27 through 47.

When I clicked enough times to open the y-axis label OPS GIVING I was able to
enlarge the size of the letters. When I clicked outside the label to retain the
changes, then the X-Y data points disappeared along with the exponential trend
line.

The two sheets, ORIGINAL and PROBLEM ILLUSTRATED contain before and
after effects of the label change.

If the data has somehow lost the data attachment, then that is precisely the
nature of the bug. Changing the letter size of the y-axis label causes the data
to uncouple from the graph.

When you initially open the file, you do see the lines and data points on the
chart don't you? They did not get there by some hocus-pocus.

I have just attached a copy of the unaltered original file before I changed the
Y-axis label font size. This one has the data attached so reproducing the
problem should work. It would probably be illuminating to examine the
difference between the files to discover just how the data became decoupled.
That is above my ability.

Additional thought, maybe it has nothing to do with the bug, BUT: When I
initially tried to modify the font of the y-axis TITLE, I entered the text box
and changed the size with the Object Properties context drop-down Character Tab,
and clicked on the outside to make the change, initially the y-axis label did
not modify. Instead the right hand LEGEND box reflected the change. I used the
undo button, reentered the y-axis title box and made the changes, this time the
change was applied to the correct text.

Additional observation #1: The arrow keys can move the title box and the legend
box but using the mouse to drag and drop will not leave the boxes where they are
dropped. They spontaneously move elsewhere by themselves.

Additional observation #2: You cannot grab the green tabs to resize the box.
You do not get a double-arrow cursor. Only the + cursor which to move the
box.

I have an X-Y chart with data and correlation line displayed. I attempted to

line disappeared immediately when finished.

I am submitting the Calc sheet entitled GRAPH BUG to illustrate the bug.

There are two sheet tabs at the bottom. The tab labeled ORIGINAL is the
beginning point. After only changing the y-axis label the graph changed to that
of the sheet named PROBLEM ILLUSTRATED. The particular graph that I was working
on is the bottom graph, entitled OPS GIVING TREND (LAST 4 YEARS Data projected

What version of OpenOffice did you use that worked? Was it 2.20 release
candidate?
For what it is worth, I could not locate an MD5SUM for Milestone 11 so it is
possible but unlikely that I got a corrupted copy. I have a direct high-speed
connection to the internet so my downloads do not get interrupted unless the
server side crashes during the download process.

I re-downloaded and executed the unzip directory's SOFFICE.EXE. It worked much
better this time, although not perfectly. Both times the download had the same
number of bytes, but since I could not locate an MD5SUM for this download I
cannot be sure that even now I have a perfect download.

When executing SOFFICE.EXE I did receive a series of installation error
messages, (altogether five, although the attachment will show only the first
four since they seem to be all complaining about the same problem) which I will
attach after filing these comments.

MILESTONE 11 from
http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS/entry/chart2_second_integration_candidate_ready
crashes on install when soffice.exe is executed with the error message
The application cannot be started. An internal error occured. This happens
every time.

Sorry there is not more information. Maybe the installer needs work not only to
correct whatever is crashing, but to be enhanced to provide useful error
messages. This could be done with set points with point values that will be
printed out with the error.

I also attempted to install the milestone 11 by using the Extension Manager,
which fail aslo. The error message is perhaps better at communicating. It
reads

Cell borders are misbehaving. A spreadsheet created with OOo v2.0 had nicely
formatted cell borders. When this file is opened in 2.0.4 extraneously cell
borders occur within merged cells.

This is NOT expected behavior.

When I perform FILE - PRINT put radio button on PAGES, then change the 1-9 to
read 2-9, click OPTIONS box, make sure both checkboxes are checked (supress
output of empty pages and print only selected sheets).
Click OK to close the options window. Click OK to print.
Print fails entirely.

You expect to get pages 2 through 9 printed. This does not happen. You SHOULD
get pages 2 through 9 but nothing is produced. I did NOT select only page 1 to
print.

Do NOT select sheets with ODD or with EVEN numbers. I want ALL selected pages
to print.

If you experiment further with OPTIONS and uncheck the bottom box, you get a
different result (print only selected sheets).

You are right about selection. I incorrectly filled out the bug report.
Instead of my using selection in my comments, I should have used pages.

I try to print an 9 sheet document. If I select all from the FILE-PRINT menu
all prints fine. BUT, if I select PAGES and list the pages 2-9 to print,
then the print fails completely. If I select PAGES and leave the default
to page 1-9 then page one ONLY prints, and 2-9 fail. I am using 2.0.4RC1 on
WinXP Pro w/SP2 and an HP LaserJet 1000 printer.

This bug DOES still exist. It happens consistently (every time I try it).

[graphics-issues] [Issue 62013] show data series in Chart Line Object properties dialogue box

Each line on the chart is determined by a series of cells. Change the values in
the cells and the line adjusts accordingly. Therefore, that series of cells is
a property of the line.

I am asking for ALL of the properties of the line to be available for inspection
when a line's “object properties” is selected from the context menu, not just a
subset of them. It would be BETTER if adjustments to the series of cells could
be adjusted as well. The best ever ability to do this that I am familiar with,
was the old DOS Quattro Pro v3 (not the windows version) where when you went to
the source cells, they were marked with a boundary line showing what cells were
applicable. You could extend or retract the cell boundary with the keyboard
arrow keys. Using the period key allowed the cell focus to bounce clockwise
around the corners so the flexibility to extend the boundary up, left right, or
down was available at any corner. Very useful!

I finally got rc3 installed. I manually deleted the folders that had been
installed by rc2, and I deleted Open Office from the registry. So the problem
was not rc3 but was rc2. It was a bear to delete the folders, even in Safe Mode
there were still files that would not delete until I used the command prompt
mode.

Then, rc3 would install cleanly. Help about shows it as Open Office 2.0.2 with
no mention of rc3 however.

It turns out that I had a bad install and did not realize it. It resulted from
installing the rc1 in the same directory as my production 2.0.1.

Since the first reinstall, I have not been able to reproduce the problem.

I request that when you have the properties window open for a line in a chart
that an option to modify the data series that creates the line be available.
Sometimes I would just like to identify the data series that is the source data
for the line generation. I will attach a writer document with the window open
(titled DATA SERIES incidentally) which identifies what I am talking about.

Currently the only way to identify or modify the data source is the context menu
for the first click focus on the whole chart.

Try it again please, after checking the x-axis box for automatic. Also, in
the examples I have provided as attachment, notice the dates are supposed to
have the format MM/DD/YY and be in sequence. Notice how screwed up the date
sequences are.
Start: 12/30/99 followed by 9/8/13 then by 5/18/27 then 1/24/41 then 10/3/54
then 6/11/68 then 2/18/82 then 10/28/95 then 7/6/(obscured).

What is THAT all about?

DOH, I think I have discovered the problem. The original graph data range
included a blank row above the data. By reseting the rage for only data, and by
checking the source format on the number tab, the issue seems to have been
resolved. I recommend some remarks be put in the troubleshooting help or FAQ
regarding the potential problem if blank rows are included as the first data
element.
