I tested against current Official Release just today.

Sorry, your (much to fast) response is not true !

Adabas D works only in StarOffice (that is an other product, not topic here,
and not covered here) - not in OpenOffice. That's the different.

So Adabas D Hooks may not exist in OpenOffice, since those are not functional
and there is no way to get it working, since SAG AG (Germany, Darmstadt) has
dropped the Adabas D product completely. So Open Office may not confuse all
it's users with inapprobiate Menuentries and completley missing and
disfuctional crap.

Adabas D is completely broken in OpenOffice.

In OpenOffice (current days) not working compnents should be kicked off the
project.

Since Adabas D is completely abadoned by the Manufacturer, so the Adabas D
support should end at all.

The Menuentries New|Database|Connect existing|Select Kombo: Adabas D are
still existing, but completely disfunctional, using it leads into SIGSEV.

Reported on Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty (plain install).

if it works with execute direct option checked, what the heck ist the
differnce ?
The Query was created withhin a SQL Window. So further parsing is nonsens and
a SQL direct Option is definitely nonsens. The existence of this option make
the whole thing SQL Window intransparent and not practical usable.

IMHO a critcal Bug.

This Statement is comletely correct and works fin, but is _NOT_ accepted from
OOo Base:
SELECT ZEIT,LOGTEXT FROM OL_SYSTEMLOG WHERE TIMEDIFF(TIMESTAMP, ZEIT)
'01:00:00'
It is impossible to execute, save or use this correct within OOo Base.

This Scenario occurs for:
Linux + unixODBC (Statement works in isql)
Database: MySQL MaxDB, SapDB, Adabas D, Oracle et al.

My Suggestion do not parse SQL Statements by OO itself, use the DB engine to
do so, using the ODBC prepare call.

it must be possible to:
- save
- execute
- use such a statement

[installation-issues] [Issue 44102] Where are the install fil es? RPMs are useless

This is discrimination made by OpenSource !
Converting the RPMs does not work. iE. alien -d produces junk, there are
execute permissions missing in the produced packages.

So this ISSUE is P1 - critical !
