I am saving my files as .doc and assigning the files to open by default with
Oo3. This causes my icon in 10.5.5 to be a blank white page (default document
icon in Leopard) instead of the Word Processor icon for OO3.

This should show the OO3 icon.

When I hightlight a spreadsheet file (.ods)in the Finder in OS X 10.5.5, and
press the spacebar I do not get a Quicklook of the file. This feature works for

Create new document or open existing document. Create a new *note* but do not 
type in it. When right 
clicking on the note and choose *delete note* the program crashes immediately. 
Happens everytime for 
me.

What works is click on the arrow menu in the note and choosing *delete 
note*no crash, works as it 
should.

How does this work...does OO3 actually put out releases and fixes? I am wanting

Yes, this is now assigned to this issue because in #9511 it was determined that 
the "send as email" 
feature is not working when there are spaces in the file name. 

This is the exact problem that I am having and confirms it with each new 
filename with spaces in the name 
and with existing files that have spaces in the file name.

Also interesting to note. If an existing file has spaces...and the file is 
renamed to have no spaces, the file 
still fails on the "send as email" button or menu command.

Yes, same issue with me. Good catch MRU. However, I noticed that if I take a 
Word document that had a 
space in it "church vision.docx" and rename it to "churchvision.docx" it still 
does not send as email. For 
me the file has to be originally named with no spaces.

I am still having trouble with this. I am using OS X 10.5.5 and Apple Mail is 
my default email 
application. The feature is Oo3 works fine with a new, un-named file. But when 
I open a MS Word 
document and click on button labeled "Document as email" I now get the 
following error...

"An error occurred in sending the message. Possible errors could be a missing 
user account or a 
devective setup. Please check the OpenOffice.org settings or your email program 
settings."

My Apple Mail settings are in working order using my gmail accountobviously 
it works because if I 
click New Text Document, type some text, and click on the icon  "Document as 
email", it works as it 
should. This would also mean that my settings in OpenOffice.org are setup 
correctly. Also, this error 
happens if Apple Mail is open or closed.

Again, this is only working when I open a previously saved Word 
documentpreviously saved ODT files 
are fine.

Sending document as email is an important issue and much needed. However, the 
feature only works if 
sending an Open Office file or a completely new document (even if default is 
set to save as Word).

If I open a Word file and then try to send the document as a email, nothing 
happens. Sometimes I get a 
dialog that says error occured...check settings. All of my settings are 
correct. 

If I open a ODT file, sending as email works fine.

If I open a ODT file, and choose send as Word file in email, it works fine.

If I create a new file and choose send as email, it works fine.

The issue is when I open an existing Word file...the send as email does not 
work via the button or the 
menu selection.
