[sw-issues] [Issue 69521] Dissapearing EPS with prev iew in OO.2.0.3 under Linux
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=69521 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Nov 10 07:10:38 -0800 2006 --- I'm also seeing this issue with writer from either OOo 2.0.4 from openoffice.org or the Debian packages of 2.0.4-2. If I'm working on a largish document (ca. 30 pages) with many eps and jpg images inserted, the eps figures randomly disappear from the document. Sometimes, the figure is replaced by an empty box with a File not found (or similar) error; other times, the images just disappear completely. I have yet to work out whether the disappearances happen when saving or just scrolling through the document but I have had situations where I can see an eps image on screen but I get an empty box with an error message if I print the page! The images seem to disappear one by one, rather than all together. I've been through phases of trying to use eps files with or without previews and both get lost regardless. The jpg images never disappear. Eps images worked fine (albeit without automatically generated previews) up until about version 2.0.3, when I think the eps preview code was added. I tried a development build the other day but couldn't even get it to start up! I couldn't find a download of 2.0.2 to go back to that, either. This is a really big problem for me because most of my figures are eps files. I don't want to have to resort to m$ word!!! It's quite time consuming having to reinsert the figures every day or so! :( - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 70392] Saving document creates ma ny zombie processes
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=70392 Issue #|70392 Summary|Saving document creates many zombie processes Component|Word processor Version|OOo 2.0.3 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Linux Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|save-export Assigned to|mru Reported by|lazaroid --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 13 02:52:38 -0700 2006 --- I'm currently working on a openoffice-writer document containing about 30 eps images (as well as about the same number of jpg images). Originally, I was using ones with epsi previews but have now removed the previews due to the 'disappearing images' issue. Whenever I save the document, I get an increasing number of zombie processes (listed as Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct by ps). Watching top during the save, I see lots of 'gs' and 'convert' processes being spawned, presumably creating eps previews, or something. Maybe it is these processes that are not exiting cleanly (or related to this). After a few saves, I need to close openoffice to remove the zombie processes (I'm curerntly up to about 300 zombie processes!). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I inserted six copies into a table and I had 6 zombie processes. I inserted two more and had 8 zombies. ps -ax shows: 2282 ?S 0:00 /bin/sh /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice 2293 ?Sl 0:19 /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice.bin 2303 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2308 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2313 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2318 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2324 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2329 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2347 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2352 ?Z 0:00 [soffice.bin] defunct 2356 pts/16 R+ 0:00 ps ax Saving this file did not create more zombies as it does with my larger document. I am thinking that this is because not all of the figures will be cached when working on part of a big document and they are converted (or similar) when saving. Just had a quick test with calc and I see a zombie process appear each time I insert the figure. I'll attach both the figure and the writer document. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 69637] eps preview not displayed
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=69637 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 9 07:53:14 -0700 2006 --- I've just discovered this bug, i.e. I insert an eps file with a preview (created with eps2epsi)and after a bit of scrolling, saving, etc. (not quite worked out what triggers it), the images are first replaced by Read errors and then disappear completely! After searching on here, I thought it would be solved by upgrading from 2.0.3 and thought it had...but it still happens with 2.0.4. I was using 2.0.3-6 (Debian package) and I've upgraded to 2.0.4-rc3-1 (also Debian package) and I get the same problem, i.e. eps files disappear at random! Bizarrely, it isn't all of them at once: some may vanish whilst others stay there, so I'm not sure whether it happens when the files or previews are removed from a cache or something. Needless to say, it gets quite annoying having to reinsert figures again and again! :( - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 5273] Print current page command
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=5273 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 24 01:54:28 -0700 2006 --- The main thing for me would be to be able to assign a toolbar button which prints the current page directly without having to go through the Print dialog. It is possible to do this for the whole document but not for a single page. This is a really nice feature when you're editing a large document: you can make changes on a page and print it out as you go with much less hassle than File-Print-Pages-OK. Maybe it's relatively easy to do this with a macro but that seems like overkill to me! - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
