Voila: it opens. So OOO cannot handle files with some hundreds of Kb images in tables. Still slow to render, because of the nested big tables pasted from the browser. Copy-paste from websites is extremely slow/unstable :-( . - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 89351] 2.4.0 Font Rendering is Ba d
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=89351 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue May 13 04:43:23 + 2008 --- I think that the official OOO build does not follow the system-wide setting for font hinting and subpixel rendering. You can get subpixel hints by - using OOo shipped with hardy heron (it is compiled to follow the gnome font settings) - using the official OOo 3.0 beta (because it's a 3.0 feature) (Somebody please, correct me if I'm wrong.) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 88218] Writer does not convert me asurement units into default (Regression?)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=88218 Issue #|88218 Summary|Writer does not convert measurement units into default | (Regression?) Component|Word processor Version|OOo 2.4.0 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Linux Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|formatting Assigned to|mru Reported by|marcabru --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Apr 13 07:05:49 + 2008 --- OO.org Writer does not allow using alternative measurement units in dialog boxes. In previous versions (2.4.0) when I entered e.g. paragraph spacing in an unit other than the default measurement unit (pt=point instead of cm=centimeters), OO.org converted it to the default units. In OO.org 2.4 (hungarian build downloaded from http://hu.openoffice.org) no conversion happens. Steps to reproduce: 1)Format menu -- Paragraph 2)Enter in spacing before 6 pt Result: “6 cm” is in the box. Expected result: “0,21 cm” This bug is annoying because if I want to keep half line spacing above a paragraph I can easily calculate that half line=12pt/2=6 pt. Now I have to convert it manually into centimeters. [sw-issues] [Issue 86594] Asterisk (*) as footnote-n umbering too small (double superscript)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=86594 Issue #|86594 Summary|Asterisk (*) as footnote-numbering too small (double s |uperscript) Component|Word processor Version|OOo 2.4 RC1 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|Linux Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|formatting Assigned to|mru Reported by|marcabru --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 1 10:30:59 + 2008 --- Steps to reproduce: 1)Type some text (default style, English UK language) 2)Insert -- Footnote... 3)Select “Character” and type “*” (asterisk) in the text field. 4)Select Ok. Problem: The footnote mark (asterisk) is too small compared to what I see in Word, and what I expect based on the typographical convention (see attached screen shot). Possible Explanation: The numbered footnotes are marked with a number with superscript character style (named “Footnote anchor”), as it is expected. If I select asterisk as a footnote numbering, the asterisk from “Times New Roman” font is _already in superscript_. When OpenOffice.org Writer puts it in superscript, it appears in “double superscript”, thus extremely small and extremely upper position from the baseline. Suggested solution: Hard-code some Unicode characters which are already superscripted (e.g.: the asterisk, those Unicode characters which contain the “SUPERSCRIPT” tag in the description, eg. “º” and “ª”), and exclude them from the superscript style, when applying the “Footnote Anchor” character style. Notes: OS: Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy) 2.6.22-14-386 i686 GNU/Linux, X.Org 7.2. [sw-issues] [Issue 64237] RNG: Hidden text character attribute violates OpenDocument specification 15.4.47
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=64237 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jan 9 08:12:58 + 2008 --- I would qualify this error a serious one, the 3.0 target is a bit too late. It blocks compatibility with AbiWord for example. In the attached document (why.odt) saved by AbiWord (trunk) an automatic style contains the text:display=true attribute, thus the text with this style does not show up. THis causes - at least seemingly - a dataloss. See attached screenshot too (why.png). In a real world document, this case of disappearing text occurs in random places along the document, when somebody create a text in AbiWord, and then opens it with OpenOffice.org. Because AbiWord can place text:display=true anywhere, a data loss could occur in any place, which is very annoying. When there is an open standard, an application should follow it. However if the bug is in the AbiWord imp/exp filter, please excuse me, in that case I will file the bug in their bug system. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
