Hello,

this is still broken after it has been pointed out as a breakage in usability
many times before.

When a complex dialog is saved in the API it is reproducable saving a
OOo document (no matter what module) does not save the dialog.
This is a nasty surprise after adding lots of items to a dialog and then
returning to OOo after a succesful save and finding that your dialog is still
in the state it was before you built the additional objects and saved the
document.

I really hope this can be looked into as soon as possible.

Marinus.

Hi Stefan,

unfortunately there seems to be a regression as I have seen it in Linux now too
(rc2).
It may be a spinoff of the same problem as I'm no longer using Windows and
appareantly (I have verified it after it was set to fixed) the Windows problem
is gone but it certainly happens in Linux and rc2.

Just moments ago, I completed a major edit of a extensive Calc document,
containing basic modules and dialogs.

Again, as mentioned earlier in the unfortunately hijacked issue

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49312

I returned to my Calc file and to my horror discovered that again a Dialog had
not been saved. This after I have been going through a multi-step saving
process, just to avoid these incidents from occuring.

I am beginning to suspect that this issue may affect Calc as well.

Sincerely,

Marinus Moelker.

Sirs,

the If...Then...Else Statement [Runtime] help file contains an inconsistency.

The ElseIf and EndIf statements are one word in the Parameters declaration but
in the Example EndIf is declared with two words, i.e. End If.

Clearly, this works too but for consistency I think it's better if the
documentation either uses End If or EndIf.

The latter seems more appropriate.

Hi Stefan,

I have attached a very simple empty spreadsheet, with library 'Standard'
containg module 'Module1' which holds basic module 'Module1' and dialog
'Dialog1'.

To reproduce:

1. Open document focustest.ods
2. Tools - Macros - Organise Macros - OpenOffice.org Basic
3. focustest - Standard - Module1 - Edit
4. Select Dialog1 either by tab or through the organiser
5. Rightclick on the button 'CommandButton1'
6. Properties - Tab 'Events' - 'When receiving focus' or any other event
7. Document focustest.ods with library hierarchy visible; we can assign
8. Open another application, i.e. Firefox
9. Focus the spreadsheet, i.e. in Windows XP click on the appropriate button on
  __ the taskbar
10. Focus the non-related application, i.e. Firefox
11. Focus the API
12. Focus Firefox
13. Focus the API
14. Repeat step 5 but notice the hierarchy is not intact anymore.

This is not logical as we have created this library as part of the documents
hierarchy and therefore we should have the hierarchy visible when performing
assignments from a subpart of the document.

Hope this helps,

Marinus.

Sirs,

when moving out of the API focus, i.e. clicking outside of the editor, AND
leaving the focus of the main component the main components library
initialization fails.
This is appareant when trying to assign a macro to a button in a dialog upon
returning to the API. This fails, as only the main OpenOffice.org libraries are
initialized. Trying to assign a macro in the components library is not possible
until refocusing the components window or re-compiling the components library.

It is my opinion, if this is intended behaviour, that focussing upon the loaded
library should be forced if the API is in focus. Otherwise, a user is left to
wonder where his macros went.
Ofcourse, it's easy to refocus the main component but it doesn't seem logical or
user friendly.

Sincerely,

Marinus.

Hi Frank.

You're right, but that is not my point.

There clearly is a quirk in the calibration of the object alignment.

If I manually pre-select a cell and then cut and paste a button to that cell the
anchoring should be forced to that specific cell and not an adjacent cell, and
there should be no compensation/compromizing neccesary.

Objectalignment should be consistent and uncomplicated.

I don't think it's fair to expect a basic user to zoom in to 300% and define the
size of a button based on Row height/Column width, crosscheck and determine it's
correctly aligned to the Row/Column and then discover that upon zooming back to
100% the button is not even close to the row/column, albeit aligned to the
desired cell.

I'm re-opening,

thanks though.

Hi taomyn,

when I try to download your document it shows as a OpenOffice.org 1.1 document.
When I open it it indeed is called various luxembourg.odt.sxw.

Could that be the problem?
I don't think it is related to this issue.

Sirs,

the buttons in attached spreadsheet

buttonalignmentproblem.ods

will not anchor correctly when using zoom.

1. Open the spreadsheet
2. Select the first sheet
3. Try different zoomsettings
4. Note that somehow the buttons are anchored to a offset grid and only show
   correct anchoring in 100%.

This does not occur with a newly created simple spreadsheet, attached as

buttonalignmentOK.ods.

I have seen this behaviour in all OOo versions since 1.1.3.

Sirs,

setDataArray and getDataArray on large arrays lock not only OOo but effectively
shuts down Windows XP.
Trying to access the Windows XP taskmanager takes about 30 seconds on a P4 2800
with 256 MB.

This simple basic demonstrates what happens when trying to get/set with
setDataArray pointing to a whole Calc sheet.

Somehow it would be useful, if this in inherent to this function, to have some
sort of API protection when trying to access such large arrays.

Sample code:

sub Main
   oDoc = ThisComponent
   oSheets = oDoc.getSheets()

   oSheet1 = oSheets.getByName("Sheet1")
   oSheet2 = oSheets.getByName("Sheet2")

   ' If you want the whole sheet just set (in OOo 2.0)..

   nColumn = 1

   nTimer1 = Timer()
   'for nRow = 1 to 65536
   '   if nRow / 256 = nColumn then nColumn = nColumn + 1
   ' if nColumn > 256 then exit for
   '   oCell = oSheet1.getCellByPosition(nColumn - 1, nRow - 1).setValue(nRow)
   'next
   nTimer2 = Timer()

   ' 0 seconds
   sCellRangeName = "A1:IV10"
   ' 2 seconds on P4 2800
   sCellRangeName = "A1:IV1000"
   ' 19 seconds on P4 2800
   sCellRangeName = "A1:IV1"
   ' kills it
   ' sCellRangeName = "A1:IV65536"

   oCopyCellRange = oSheet1.getCellRangeByName(sCellRangeName)

No automation, just pen and paper..
A total of 200 random tests over a period of five months resulted in this data.
It does not occur when using 'Save all' through the API.
It has also occured less after I split the macros in different parts. This
because as the macro code grew, OOo would not compile or save the macros
anymore.
Still, even after this split, dialogs would occasionaly not show editing changes
after save/shutdown/reopen.

If you believe this somehow is solved in > 100 then I guess my data is too
underfunded to justify leaving this open.
Lets hope it is!

Thanks for looking at it.

Marinus.

Menu - Format - Styles and Formatting

Unable to delete or edit cellstyles.

1. Open attached spreadsheet.
2. Menu - Format - Styles and Formatting (F11).
3. Select Hierarchical to expose sub- and inherited styles.
4. Expand LogAirport (or any other style).
5. Delete ClipAirport.
6. Close dialog.

Repeat and find actions undone.
Same for all other styles.

Another problem is that when select 'All styles' and trying to delete a tree,
the 'Do you really want to delete' question is asked and when confirmed by
'Yes' nothing happens.
This is not handled correctly either.

Hope this helps.

Marinus.

I have been tracking document save failures for this document after noticing
that occasionaly newly written macros were not saved after saving either through
the API interface.

This has been occuring in all of the 680mX versions.
I cannot discover a pattern, however.
Also, this has been tested on a total of 5 different XP installations/systems.

Total saves: 200
Total failures on macro-code: 34
Total failures on spreadsheet components: 11

Failure means: Save confirmed by hidden save-button, both in the API interface
and the spreadsheet application. When opening document after complete OOo
shutdown the document is in the state it was before the save.

I have attached the document, maybe it will provide a clue.

Sincerely,

Marinus.

The attached file was produced initially in 1.1.4 and subsequently received
edits in most snapshots of 2.0.

This file, saved by 680m93 as .sxc, opens as an empty worksheet and causes the
statusindicator for loading to spawn but fails to load from that point on.
The window title shows the filename but the spreadsheet is inaccessible.

Also, another user reported an unrecoverable crash in 1.1.3 when trying to
access the macros.

When calling .createStatusIndicator() and running it through .SetValue in a
spreadsheet, the status indicator gets interrupted by Calc's status indicator
showing 'Adapting Row Height'. This distorts viewing as it blocks the progress
indication of a macro.

This behaviour is absent in 1.1.4 but consistent through earliers snippets of
2.0.

I have attached a spreadsheet showing this problem.

(Press SETUP and Re(Create) for an example)

Regards,

Marinus.

Hi Stefan,

indeed.
In 74 this seems resolved; I only downloaded it yesterday.
In 71 the behaviour is consistent, on multiple machines.

If it was fixed on purpose, please accept my apologies.
I have not found any such case in the issue tracker since 65.

Sorry about any confusion,

Sirs,

it seems there is an issue with the screen updating handling.
This sheet is stable under 1.1.4 but in 1.9.71.1 row two and four
and other buttons disappear at random. They still function and
reappear after refocusing the Calc window or other forced updating actions.
This seems independant of mousepointer position.

I have uploaded the sheet to

http://www.flyinghours.com/OOO/bugs/flyinghours094b6bugstate.sxc

I have uploaded a screenshot to

Regards,

Marinus Moelker.
