It only happens when I use Export Directly as PDF. I was able to save changes
just fine.

I just tried with
OOo_Dev_DEV300_m19_MacOSXIntel_install.dmg
and could not reproduce the bug. It appears to have been fixed in OO 3.0.0 Beta.

When I have an ODT file (e.g., flier.odt) in a directory with asterisks in the
name (e.g., M*A*S*H), and I try to Export Directly as PDF, I get the following
error:

OpenOffice.org 2.4
Error saving the document flier:
Inadmissible path.
The input syntax is invalid.

Workaround: rename the directory to a name without asterisks (e.g., MASH)

There may be other characters besides asterisks that the filesystem supports,
but that trigger this bug.
