The problem is still present with OpenOffice 3.2.1, in Windows Vista (at least).

How to reproduce:
1) create an Excel file
2) On a cell, select Wingdings 2 font
3) Enter character using Alt+0153 (this is a circle)
4) Save the file
5) Open this file with OpenOffice
6) The displayed character is TM (trademark), not the circle anymore!

:-(

Thank you to reopen this bug, please!

Regards.

Same with me, with Windows Vista!
Not any extension added to the file name when auto extension checked.
However, when the extension is added manually, the file is associated with
OpenOffice.

I use Windows XP pro English, with US keyboard layout and two input language :
English (United states) AND French (Switzerland) (with US and Swiss french
keyboard settings). My default input language is English (United States).

OpenOffice 3.0m23 installed version is en-US (english).

In OpenOffice, I set my Default language for documents (western) to French
(France). All other settings are default.

1) When I create a new document, it shows first in the status bar French
(France). Then, when I type any word and Enter, it reverts to English (USA)!
The spelling correction of my first paragraph turn to english!

2) When I try to change the spelling language of a text document, with
- Tools - Language - For all text (or selection or paragraph)
or
- Select all, and Format - Character - Font - Language
to French (France), it also reverts to English (USA) as soon as I press
Enter!

No way to keep default language to French (France)!!! (Note that the
dictionary is installed).

Is it due to the fact that my keyboard layout is US english and/or my local
settings and input language is also English (United States)??!?
Anyway, I guess that it shout be possible to set the language of a document,
independently of any other OS setting.

Regards.

Try that:

1) Open a Calc or Writer document
2) Write something
3) Copy the cells or text you wrote
4) Exit the application (with the cross on the top right)
You'll get a message asking Do you want to save your changes?
5) Press (quickly) on Discard
6) OpenOffice seems to be close, but...
7) On the process manager, the soffice.exe and soffice.bin processes are not
exited!

This is reproducible on 2 PCs (with OpenOffice 2.0.3rc4), without using the
Quick start option.

Sometimes, the processes exit correctly, but I got the problem maybe 90% of the
time!

Regards,

Milaa

I created a simple document with Microsoft Word 2003 (french version) with some
Titre 1 style (see attached file), equivalent to Heading 1 in the english
version.

When I open this Word document into OpenOffice (OOo_1.9.122_Win32Intel), the
file is imported correctly, the heading style is correct and named Heading
1... BUT it is not recognized as an heading (see picture in attachment). It
means that, in the Navigator, not any Heading seems to exist and, as a result,
it is not possible to insert cross reference to the Chapter name on footer,
for example.

Thanks...

After setting a gradient in a chart legend, it cannot been changed to another
one.

1) On OOo calc, create any data.
2) Create a Chart: XY Chart - Line only (or any chart)
3) Select the Legend, right click to Object Properties
4) Change the Area to a Gradient
5) Click OK
6) Repeat points 3) to 5) with another Gradient
= The Gradient remains the same!!!
