Hello,

it seems to me, that the Condensed typeface is not honoured by Openoffice
Writer 3.2.1 (OOO320m19 (Build:9505) / ooo-build 3.2.1.4) on Linux (Suse 11.3,
64 Bit)

E.g. I can see no difference between
DejaVu Sans Book and DejaVu Sans Condensed
(see attached example)

If I look at the fonts using kcmshell4 fontinst, I see differences between the
fonts. (Unfortunately the names are different (?) there)
(see attachment)

I have a report from a friend, that it works on Windows. (Using a different,
proprietary font)

I tried a whole bunch of fonts, but could not see a difference between the
normal and the condensed ones.

Given the fact, that it works on Windows makes the problem uglier, because now
e.g. some text arranged using tabs collides/overlaps on Linux (because it is not
condensed) but looks correct on Windows. (This is how the problem came up)

When searching for existing bug reports I came across the following ones:
26012 (Closed / Duplicate)
79878 (New, but seems to be concerned with missing typefaces)
80424 (Closed/Fixed; talks about fontwidth, which sounds like relevant)

Note: Openoffice Calc (mis)behaves in the same way, so this is probably a
general problem, but I didn't found the correct component for things like this -
please correct if needed.

--- Additional comments from mj...@openoffice.org Fri Feb 26 08:28:30 +

How to reproduce:
1. Make OOO ask for saving in ODF format, if another format is used.
(On by default, but can be disabled)
2. Load a document, not in ODF format (I tested Microsoft Word (.doc) and
Spreadsheet (.xls))
3. Choose File/Save as
4. Change the path, where to save the document
5. Click the Save button
6. OOO pops up a dialogue containing the buttons Keep current format and Save
in ODF Format
7. Click Save in ODF Format
= OOO reverts the path back to the one, you saw in step 3.
Now you have to again choose the correct path.

Correct behaviour:
In step 7. the path shouldn't change from the one already chosen.

P.S.: I saw the same issue, when I tested using Calc; I could imagine that the
issue is with some common code. Please change the Component if needed.

I just retested on 2.4
I still see the same behaviour:
- it is possible to create bookmarks consisting solely of blanks
- it is not possible to delete these from the insert bookmark dialog, because
the Delete button stays grayed out, when such a bookmarks is selected.
(It is possible to delete them in the navigator, but the behaviour is
inconsitent never the lesse9

I also tested on 3.0.0 BETA - this (mis)behaves just the same way.

If I just change the case of a column name in a (dbase)table, this change isn't
saved.

How to reproduce:
- Open a .odb-file connected to a dbase file.
- Select Tables on the left
- Select a table and choose edit from the context menu
- Change just the case of one of the fields
- Click the save button while watching the changed coulmn name:
the case is reverted back to the old form.
- close and reopen the table: You will find the old case of the field

Notes:
It doesn't seem to matter if just the case of one letter or the whole name is
changed
It doesn't seem to matter which direction the change is (upper/lower case)

As soon as one letter is changed, deleted or appended in addition to the changes
in case, the whole change is saved.

Another check: OOO2.0.2 Novell Edition (the one coming with SuSE 10.1) on SUSe
10.1 on Intel.
Same results as ever.
Note, that _creating_ a new query _is_ propagated back to the databse explorer,
but renaming isn't.

I just tried once again. Still 2.0.2 on SuSE Linux 10.0 on Intel.
The behaviour was just the same as described: It didn't worked for me as
described and expected.
It didn't make a difference if the tree of queries (and the DB itself) in the
data base explorerer was clicked open or not. The only thing (so far) to see the
change, is to close/reopen the database explorer (F4)

So, sorry no further info from me...

This is OOO 2.0.2 on SuSe Linux (10.0, patched up to date) on Intel platform.

When I change the name of a query in a database, the renaming isn't reflected in
the database explorer; still the old name is present, instead of the new one.
Clicking this one gives an error message.

Reproduce:
- View/Data Sources
- right-click a database and choose Edit database file
- In the database choose a query and rename it
- Close and save the database file
- Open the database in the database explorer and open the queries branch
- The old name of the query is still here ; click it
=
'The data could not be updated.
There exists no query with given name: !'
Where ... is the name of the query in double quotes.

The best way to work around, seems to be to close/reopen the database
explorer.

Note: A deletion of a query _is_ reflected in the database explorer, without
user interaction.

setofficelang.exe didn't react to options on Windows XP (Home, German)
While setofficelang (from 2.0.2) on my Linux box (Suse 10.0) reacts to options,
e.g. -h, -c, ...
On Windows XP (Home, German) I didn't get a reaction.
I tried
-h
/h
--h
-l
/l
--l

Especially the not working '-l' is annoying, so I don't get the list of
installed language packs.

If I know the corrrect code (lent from my linux box) setofficelang.exe does
switch the language of the GUI as expected.

It seems that tables inserted on a label aren't resizable (unlike tables on
normal pages)
I tried several different labels, among others
Avery C2412
Herma 4375

All showed the same problem:
If I create a table (using the toolbar or Insert/Table) the table uses the whole
horizontal space. The columns of the table share this space equaly.
It is not possible to resize the columns using the mouse or to make the table
smaller than the width of the label using the mouse.

It _is_ possible to change the shares between the columns using the context-menu
(right click) Table/Tab Columns
But also here, the table can't be made smaller, than the width of the label.
While the entry space still available accepts mouse clicks, the entry can't be
changed.

(I would like to use only the smallest possible part of a label, but for tables
that fails for this reason)

Yes PALM PDA is wrong (wouldn't it be nice BTW ?) But this is Linux on a PC.
(Guess I hit the scroll wheel of my mouse, while still on the drop down list -
happens all too often...)

I found (in fact already yesterday evening) the offending odb-file.
I will attach this.
If I open this directely, I get a dialogbox saying General Error.
Then an empty Openoffice base window is opened.

BUT OOO crashes if this file is included in
 ~/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/DataAccess.xcu

I will attach a shortened file, which creates the crash here.

I found, that one odb-file seems to be the culprit.
When explicitely opened, I get a dialog box simply saying General Error.
Then a empty OOO Base window is opened. I will attach the file.

BUT, when this file is in
~/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/DataAccess.xcu
Exchange DB... crashes OOO.

I will attach a stripped down file for this.

- open the attached document (DBCrash.sxw)
- Choose Edit/Exchange Database...
- = OOO crashes

This happens with both 1.9.113 and 1.9.118
It works fine using 1.1.5 rc 2 or 1.1.4

I'm somewhat afraid, that the crash depends on details of the setup.
Any further info I can supply ?
(I've submitted an error report at the restart of OOO. I have the text of
this here.)

[sw-issues] [Issue 46009] New - Title bar of Writer/Web just shows Openoffice.org Writer/Web missing the filename or title

If I load a .sxw or .odt document in Openoffice 2.0 BETA, the filename of the
document or (if present) the title of the file properties is shown in the title
bar of the window.
But if I load a html-file, the title bar just reads Openoffice.org Writer/Web.
The same can be found in the Windows menu.
This makes it hard to find one of several documents opened at the same time.

If I enter the File/Properties dialog and edit the title there, the title bar is
updated to reflect the new name. If I delete the title there completely, the
filename is shown instead. (Both in additon to Openoffice.org Writer/Web)
However if I save this file and reopen it, the title again just reads
Openoffice.org Writer/Web.

Way to reproduce:
- Start OOO 2.0BETA (important, don't use an already used instance, see below)
- Open an old document, which uses fonts no longer available on the system.
[I will attach a document, showing this behaviour on my system]
= OOO Writer 2.0BETA shows only a very short, wired list of fonts as available.
(See list below)
- Open a second document with recent fonts
= Here the fonts are shown correctly, but in the first document, still only the
short list is available
- Close the first document and reopen it
= Still the same

BUT:

- Close and restart OOO
- First load a document with recent fonts
= All fonts available
- Open the document, which misbehaved above
= Also all fonts available
- Close all documents (but not OOO)
- Reopen the misbehaving document
= All fonts available

I have seen this behaviour with four different documents.
(Out of four old documents I tried)
OOO 1.1.4 doesn't show this behaviour.

The short list of fonts consists here of:
Bitstream Vera Sans
Bitstream Vera Sans Mono
Bitstream Vera Serif
Lucida Bright
Lucida Sans
Lucida Sans Typewriter
OpenSymbol
Yudit

All these fonts are also in the complete list.
There seems to be nothing special about them, except that Yudit is the last
one in the complete list.

While the attached document is a .sdw, I've also seen this happen with
.sxw-files.
(But these contain private documents.)
