Component:|Word processor Version:|OOo 2.0 Platform:|All URL:| OS/Version:|Windows XP Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|save-export Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|nkuehn --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Sep 29 04:06:15 -0700 2005 --- Image ist displayed incorrectly outside the paragraph area in MS Word when exporting the attached File from OOo2.0RC1 to MS Word format. Steps to reproduce: - Open the attached file MS_Word_Image_Positioning2.odt in OOo2.0RC1 - The grey image on page 2 ist the subject we're looking at. - Choose Save as in the Menu and save the File in MS Word 97/2000/XP Format - Open the File in MS Word (I am using Word 2002 SP3) - The Grey PNG image is running over the footer area, although it should be displayed on the second page. To fix the issue manually in MS Word: - Open the image properties and set the layout property positioning from [number zero] below Paragraph to 0 below Paragraph. The image is now positioned correctly on page 2. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. C) instead of refreshing the toc, try to make a pdf or print or display the print preview. What am I doing that you are not doing??? In you'd like to talk to me on the phone, please send an email and I'll give you my contacts. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 53773] New - Writer hangs when up dating TOC or exporting PDF before initial pag e reflow has completed
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=53773 Issue #:|53773 Summary:|Writer hangs when updating TOC or exporting PDF |before initial page reflow has completed Component:|Word processor Version:|680m118 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Windows XP Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P2 Subcomponent:|open-import Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|nkuehn --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 25 02:36:34 -0700 2005 --- On certain odt documents that are generated outside OOo, OOo hangs/loops when being forced to reflow page layout (e.g. update TOC or export to PDF) before it has completed this task in the background (i.e. before the page count in the status bar has stopped increasing). Waiting for hours did not change anything. Processor load is 100%. Sometimes (I have not found the pattern yet) this also happens after OOo has done the initial page reflow. An example Document ist attached. I had to anonymize it with grey graphics and X-es as Text because the original contains company internal information. The Defect is reproducible nevertheless. I cannot give a stack or something because OOo does not crash. Steps to reproduce: - open the attached document - scroll down immediately to the TOC heading, right click on it and choose Update Index - Instead of updating the TOC you can export to PDF - wait until OOo hangs - if you are convinced that nothing will happen, kill the OOo process. Thank you very much for investigating, this is a very important issue to us. Resolution of the Issue must not necessarily be a fix to OOo, it can also be a hint what we have to change in the document structure to avoid the issue (we generate the Document ourselves). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 2542] Document metadata should be configurable
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2542 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Feb 14 08:16:14 -0800 2005 --- Hello everyone, I vote for this issue because I am part of a team at DaimlerChrysler Research Technology that currently implements a document generator for technical documentation which has OpenOffice as the main target format. To fill the document templates with the meta information from the database we currently have to abuse the user field under Fields-Variables-User Field. I suggest changing this functionality because: - The OASIS Format does not place this limitation, so a valid File is not interpreted properly by OOo - I guess People either don't use the feature at all or they need a lot of user-defined fields - MS Word compatibility requires it (e.g. open a Word doc with 5 user defined properties) - Externally generated OOo files with more than 4 user-defined meta information fields behave unlogical: A field referencing a user-defined meta tag 4 is not filled with the correct value or at least let empty, but is filled with the value of the first user-defined document property.
