I think this is an example for the data_loss keyword.

OOo overwrites an existing image file without warning, if the file name is
entered manually.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select a graphics in an ODT (e.g. using Navigator)
2. Right click Save Graphics under deliberative name without extension
(which is added automatically) - e.g. x for x.jpg - and press Save
3. Select a different graphics and repeat the same steps. Choose the same file
name - here: x
4. Clicking button Save saves the image file and overwrites the existing file
without warning.

In contrast, choosing the file name by picking an existing file (by clicking or
double cklicking) leads to the expected warning File already exists.
Overwrite?

OOo 3.1.1 / OOO310m19 (Build 9420) / Suse Linux 10.3 / KDE

amazing how quick you can crash ooo...

shortest way to reproduce crash here (on linux 2.6.22, 1 GB RAM):

1) Create new spreadsheet document
2) select the whole table by clicking the left upper column/row head cell (you
know what I mean ;-)
3) call data pilot with current selection
OOo crashes after a few seconds

Maybe this is a duplicate of bug #55266

[sw-issues] [Issue 64944] circular letter wizard do esn't take the marked data from the data base browser

@hi: here is a description of my perception of the problem, maybe it differs
from that of the OP:

1- create serial letter e.g. using the wizard, in last step save the document

2- open the document created in step 1, open the data browser F4
3- select several records, say 2 + 4 (out of 5) using ctrl+click

Problem #1 (that of the OP, how I understand it) arises when using the mail
merge wizard for printing

4a- click mail merge button
5a- to use current document just click Next 3 times
6a- to select individual records for printing you have to deselect the
unwanted records in step 5 of the wizard, your recent selection from the data
browser is ignored

Problem #2 arises when you print by printing dialog (button or menu)

4b- print the document using direct print button or file-print
5b- after answering the form letter dialog with yes, a new data browser
comes up in the printing dialog - but with no selected records, so the
selection from the big data brwoser in the document is lost and you have to
select again.

The Problem is that the data browser in the print dialog
- is very small, so if want to select records based on a field somewhere far
right, you have to scroll horizontally a lot;
- not resizable vertically, so if you want to select several individual ranges
of records you have to scroll vertically a lot;
- does not take care of the selections made in the ordinary (F4) data
browser

reverted by St and Mikeleib today (why not all the other?)

Regression? Just tested OOo_2.0beta2 (SRC680_m125_native_packed-2_de.8947) on
Linux:
1) opened ods-sheet and odb-document which uses ods-sheet as data source
2) changed some fields in ods
3) did not succeed to get them updated in odb-document (by doing a refresh or
rebuild)
4) testing connection (by right-click on approp. table properties test
connection [which was helpfull in m104]) did not update the odb-fields
note: all this even without connection pooling allowed!
5) Closing base did not help either (when ods was still open)
6) Only by closing *all* instances of OOo the table could be updated correctly
