[sw-issues] [Issue 103674] Crash on first letter typ ed

Thanks pl -- well it wasn't too hard to figure out. I experimented with my internet plugs, and determined that the crash is entirely correlated with "GarminGpsControl.plugin" -- removing it from the Internet Plug-Ins made the problem go away. (info.plist pasted in below.) Originally I had version 2.6.1 which crashed, and then I updated to the latest 2.8.1, and that also crashed. Perhaps my original bug number should be just for the Garmin case, although you can see where this basic bug pattern may be kind of common, as I figure the code quality and updating of internet plugins is below average. The free Garmin plug is for gps, taking in internet geo data and sending it to a usb connected gps receiver ... they probably just tested it on that case, not testing the more general plugin case in some way. I would consider adding a "Don't Use Media Plugins" preference of some sort, so that when some random plugin bug or security problem crops up a year from now, it makes the short-term workaround easy. Or plugins could be enabled/disable individually (hmm, that could speed up startup too). [sw-issues] [Issue 89259] Bullets and Numbering tool bar disappears when turning off bullets
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=89259 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue May 27 23:48:47 + 2008 --- I would vote to re-open this. I think the proposed "invalid" resolution would make sense for a toolbar that exclusively works on one type of content. For example, if there were an image-editing toolbar, it would make sense for it to appear and disappear when the selection is on an image. However, in this case, the toolbar includes controls that work on more general sorts of text, so I don't think having it disappear for non-bullet text makes sense. I think this is basically what [EMAIL PROTECTED] is saying too. I'm just a regular user, so I don't feel comfortable reopening on my own, but there's my vote. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 89348] Online update check now cr ashes application
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=89348 Issue #|89348 Summary|Online update check now crashes application Component|framework Version|OOo 3.0 Beta Platform|Macintosh URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|tm Reported by|nparlante --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon May 12 20:30:23 + 2008 --- Launch OOo and close the new document so that no documents are open. Bring up the Preferences panel and select the Online Update pane. Click the "Check Now" button. This crashes the application and (correctly) brings up a OOo document recovery window. Note that if there is, say, a text document window open, there is no crash, although the update check says "checking for an update failed", but that's probably just because 3.0b does not have its update infrastructure set up. [sw-issues] [Issue 89258] Promote/demote incorrectly disabled on bullets toolbar
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=89258 Issue #|89258 Summary|Promote/demote incorrectly disabled on bullets toolbar Component|Word processor Version|OOo 3.0 Beta Platform|Macintosh URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|formatting Assigned to|mru Reported by|nparlante --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat May 10 00:34:34 + 2008 --- In a text document just type "aaa" and style it as Heading 2. Leave the cursor on that text and bring up View > Bullets and Numbering toolbar. The 4 promote/demote buttons are disabled, which I think is not correct. Note that if you bring up the Navigator on the same text, it has promote/demote enabled. If you enable bullets on the text (say using the button on the toolbar), then the promote/demote buttons are enabled, however as the Navigator shows, bullet mode is not a precondition for promote/demote. Aside: I definitely do not understand the difference in behavior of a paragraph that is in "bullet" mode or not. This bug also appears in version 2.4 X11 on the mac.. I suspect it's a minor thing that's been around for a while. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
