2007 ---
I'm a french user of OOo 2.1.0, on Mandriva linux 2007.1.
I usually use OOo in french, with french dictionnary.
If I want to spellcheck an english document, I have to :
- go in File Templates (!!!), to install the english dictionnary
- open the document and go to Options Linguistic Linguisitic Settings, to
set English for this document only.
This could be improved by :
- adding an entry in the Tools menu that launches DicOOo
- adding something in File Document Properties, to be able to set the language
in the *document* properties, rather than in the *program* preferences.
Also, when spellchecking, there is a drop-down menu in which there is all the
languages, but if I select one, it is ignored at the next (non-)correction, even
if the dictionnary is present.
Have a nice day.
