Reproduce:

1. Connect Base to mysql database (assuming there is a table created)
2. Query with SQL:
"Select CAST(Col1 as CHAR) as Col1 From Table1"

error occurs

As far as my observations yielded, it's a connector independent bug.

Yep, there isn't such bug..

I was working with a user which hadn't had a Select privilege on MySql server
and that was a reason the event wouldn't play for a table. And when I tested on
an embedded database I hadn't linked a form to a table and that was the other
reason macro event wouldn't have worked. All these produced an illusion for a
bug... hmm damned wrong perception..

Steps:

1 Create any simple macro (no matter in My Macros or in *.odb file)
2 Create a Base Form, insert any form control element (for instance push
button), save form
3 Right-click that control element and go to Form...
4 Go to Events tab and assign a macros created earlier to the "When Loading"
event, save and close the form
5 reopen form and macros won't play :((

this bug is persistent in v3.2 and not in v3.1

The thing is that if I insert MySQL TimeStamp column and want to watch it in a
Form. I create TextBox (or something) to display that timestamp for a given
entry, but I won't change it myself. When I set "Empty String is Null" to No I
suppose that "Input Required" is no longer valid, but if under "Input Required"
remained value Yes.. the Form won't let me save entry unless I enter anything in
that TextBox, while I have that Textbox read-only 'cause MySQL inserts
TimeStamps automatically...
Not knowing that I lost 1 entry data and needed to reenter after correction
"Input Required" to No... Not a big Deal but still..

Run:

1. Open any Table (Table Object) from mysql database using native connection
2. Apply Standard Filter

error message : "Unknown column 'table.Base.name' in 'where clause' "

those Standard Filters work fine under same conditions using JDBC connector.

Steps:

 1. Form in Design mode
 2. right-click any field and Control
 3. under Data tab, When "Empty String is Null" set to "No", "Input required"
becomes inactive, but form will still be dependent on the entry in that
parameter.
So if you want to set "Empty String is Null" to "No", you'll first have to
adjust "Input required" parameter to needed value (Yes; No) and then Change
"Empty String is Null" to "No".
Well it's not a big issue but still might be confusing for the first time
