I don't see this as any different than having a numeric value such as
1.23456789 in a cell, formatted to
display as 1.235. When you edit it, you will see 1.23456789; to edit it as it
was formatted, you may lose
data (in this case, 5 decimal places). Likewise, to pj's original comment so
long ago, if you had formatted
the date as "QQ ", and edited it according to the format, you would only be
able to change the
quarter or the year, not the actual date in the cell. This is why editing and
display should remain
separate.

That said, the problem seems to really be that the date editor, whether by
double-click or in the entry
line, defaults to US date format, regardless of anything else. It seems that
Issue 72229 really is the answer
- for all date cells, let the user pick the format that should be used for
editing.

[sw-issues] [Issue 98052] slow, spinning beach ball for almost any action

I can confirm this on DEV310m1 Aqua/PPC, though it's only on the very first
action after starting OOo. After that, things seem to run normally. This would
be consistent with an issue loading/initializing JVM. On a G5 iMac it's about a
5-7 second delay after first keystroke in Writer or Calc.

Aqua version 3.0.1 DEV m37 shows the context menu in the wrong place when
right-clicking on row headers or column headers. Right-clicking on row headers
(far left of window) pops up menu on opposite edge of window (see attached
screenshot). Right-clicking on column headers also pops up menu in wrong place.
This is harder to describe - it's almost a "mirror image" (i.e. right-click half
an inch LEFT of center and the menu pops up half an inch RIGHT of center).
Right-clicking in a cell within the document works fine.

[sw-issues] [Issue 25680] Word import/export for 'Ta bles in tables'

If it helps, seems that nested tables import much more cleanly from DOCX (MS
Word XML format) than from DOC (binary format). (Other things, such as
graphics, don't import as cleanly, but the tables look fine.)
