In OOo 2, it used to be possible to make markers on an XY scatter plot partially
transparent. This meant that where several points were identical, or so close
that they overlapped, one could see how many copies were present. Now there's no
way to do that. May we have this feature back please?

I've had one or two situations where I needed to import 3- and 4-dimensional
data from a database into Calc, and where it would have been very helpful if I
could create one DataPilot that would put each page of its output on a separate
sheet, thus creating a true 3-dimensional table.

As soon as Writer starts up, it closes, without giving any error messages; and
if Calc is running, it closes as well. Their tasks disappear in the System
Monitor.

This occurs whether I'm trying to start a new document or open an existing one.
The next time I try to start any OOo app, I'm prompted to recover the document.
If I choose not to, and I chose to start Calc rather than Writer, Calc starts up
just fine.

I'm using Kubuntu Hardy Heron with KDE4. I have OOo 2.4.1 (it doesn't say RC1 or
RC2). I've tried updating all packages, including a dist-upgrade.

[sw-issues] [Issue 12052] Grammar Checker

If you're like me, your problem isn't as much *grammar* per se, as stylistic
problems like run-on sentences, or too many sentences starting with The, or
unnecessary passive voice. Word and WordPerfect can check for these sorts of
errors, but they would of course depend on the type of document (letter versus
scientific report versus advertising versus fiction).

Bullets On/Off and Numbering On/Off, when clicked with a new list selected,
apply fixed formats that are not useful because of the size of the bullets and
the amount of indenting. This could be resolved by allowing each document or
template to specify a default list style to attach to each of the two buttons.

Slideshows would be much easier to create if each table or chart panel created
in a slide were pre-stocked with a starter chart included in the template,
matching the template's style (same fonts, line styles, harmonizing colours).
Also, it should be possible to specify in a table pane how many rows and columns
to display, without altering the table's size.

Can we at least have a ballpark date on the implementation?
