So, I look at p. 82-84 of a 152 page document, Print Layout, 68% so I can see
and read these three full pages, and I see the upper third of the next three
pages below them. I click on a location in the document, the cursor goes there,
I can edit, all perfect. Then I press CTRL and scroll up 1 step (mouse wheel) to
magnify, and the fking display jumps to p. 56. And I scroll back 1 step, and
then out another 2 steps, it jumps to 109-112. Yes, the cursor is still at the
position it was before but I cant be asking to much when I want the thing to
also SHOW me the same pages.

you are using a office version that comes with Ubuntu, it's not our vanilla
 OOo
- so please ask Ubuntu support for the problem
I know Ubuntu has their own OOO issue and I left a comment there

furthermore there is no description how to reproduce the problem
how is the exact quoting of contents from columns C and D plus the code for
cells E2 and E3 that produces the problems not a description? If I could attach
a file that size I would do it but it's easy to generate random contents like
that paste the stuff into E2 and E3 and double-click onto the lower-right corner
to have OOO try and fill the rest of the column. Again, how this was not a
description eludes me.

 - no way to help here
see above

OS: Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit, updated and everything, 3GB RAM
OpenOffice.org 3.2.1; OOO320m19 (Build:9505); ooo-build 3.2.1.4, Ubuntu package
1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1

I have a spreadsheet which is fairly big: 35.7MB as an ods: 6 columns and
approx. 58 rows. The first row contains the header and Columns C and D
contain a filename (just the basename such as ep-00-01-17.txt) and an integer
number (not larger than 1). Not only does it take quite some time to load,
but it can also not be processed properly. Case in point: I entered

- into E2: 1
- into E3: =IF(C3C2,1,IF(D2+1=D3,E2,E2+1))

and then double-clicked on the lower-right corner to have Calc go through the
column and fill in the remaining cells in column E. Thing is, wtf, IT CAN'T DO
IT!! (Same on Windows 7) What's the point of having a spreadsheet software
claiming to be able to handle 1m rows if one can't even use 60% of that in a not
overwhelmingly large table with 3GB of RAM???

Oh, and Excel 2010 manages to do this in like 10 seconds although it is only
running in a Windows 7 virtual box with only 1.5GB of RAM. Why is it that Calc
stinks so bad in comparison??

I am creating a slideshow in Impress, I use Lucida Console as the font. In one
particular line, I want to write this (using HTML to show what the line is
supposed to look like)

ip/isubFisher-Yates exact test/sub

In Impress, the subscript is set to subscript, lower by 26%, decrease font by
58%. Now the problem:

As long as the cursor is within the text frame in which the above text is shown,
everything's fine. As soon as I leave that text frame or start the presentation,
the above text gets shown on the screen as if I had set the character spacing to
condensed, 2pt.

When I export a Writer file to a password-protected PDF (Tagged PDF), then
numbers in formulae created with the formula editor (using Times New Roman
fonts) are sometimes, not always, replaced by strange characters from some other
font.

[sw-issues] [Issue 20661] Wanted: Insert cross refer ence to paragraph number

As much as i want to move away from word, not being able to insert
cross-references to numbered lists is just insane. In linguistics, we need to be
able to refer to numbered examples all the time; in statistics, we need to refer
to numbered equations (and that is also clumsy enough). How am I supposed to
write anything longer than 20 pages (or even the occasional book) without this
feature? PLEASE make this a priority!!!

I can reproduce the wrong result, but I doubt that that is an OOo problem,
 but a
general limitation of number representation used in standard spreadsheets like
CALC or EXCEL.
That may be so, but R (http://www.r-project.org/) on the same computer gets it
right as does Google spreadsheets. Anyway, just my $0.02 bug report -- if it
can't be done, so be it but I did want to point it out.

When you compute this in Calc,

=29513736*92842033

the result is 2740115251665290, which is incorrect, the right result is

2740115251665288. Same in Excel, but don't we want OpenOffice to be better??
