Just a note on the question of the ShowBasic setting in Scripting.xcu that
was mentioned in this bug. It was indeed, as Noel points out, a temporary
setting that was used during the development of the Scripting Framework to
allow for switching between the previous UI behaviour show Basic macros
only), and the new behaviour (show all macros, including basic). This should
have been removed in the fix for i32618, I even made a comment to that effect
in the bug, but when I look at the CWS in which that was fixed (scriptingf9),
I see that while officecfg was added to the CWS, no files were committed from
that module when the CWS was integrated, and looking at the source tree it is
obvious that I must not have committed the change. Doh!

So, unfortunately, OpenOffice.org is left with the ShowBasic setting in its
configuration file. Fortunately, this setting is ignored as the changes that
I made to selector.cxx and selector.hxx to remove the code that used the
setting did get integrated in scriptingf9. Sorry about the red herring that
I left behind!

 Additionally there appears to be the problem that the case where the user
 chose
 'cancel' is not handled properly by the scripting framework. This should be
 filed as another bug.

The Scripting Framework does not know what button has been clicked, so there
is no way for it to handle the Cancel button. In general the presence of both
a No and a Cancel button seems confusing to me, I don't understand the
difference.

 I agree that a solution that addresses all these problems is not possible
 in the
 short run. The best solution that can be done quickly is to intercept the
 JavaInteractionHandler in places where this kind of problem occurs. For the
 macro case, the best solution would probably be to install a local, temporary
 wrapper for the JavaInteractionHandler. That wrapper could forward the first
 invocation (for a given kind of error) to the original handler and suppress
 any subsequent ones.

I agree, this is better than having the message popup so many times. If you
or JL can provide a code snippet that shows how I should do this I can add
it to the Scripting Framework code.

The Script Selector example has now been made part of the OOo SDK so it
should be removed from the standard OpenOffice.org installation to avoid
confusion between the version in OOo and the one in the SDK.

This is a duplicate of 37020. Unfortunately if Java is disabled, an error
message will be popped up every time OOo tries to instantiate a Java
component, see issue 37020 for more information on why this happens.

If you keep clicking OK in the warning dialog eventually it goes away.

I've done some experimentation and it seems that any Java macro that opens
a Swing window will cause this crash when running Office in the debugger on
Windows.

The code that handles the disposal of the ActiveMSPList in the
MasterScriptProviderFactory class is causing this crash. Will fix
this in the next Scripting Framework CWS.

[sc-issues] [Issue 38631] Macro onLoad is executed even if you answer deactivate macros

The problem of the error message being displayed if a macro fails to run because
the user
has chosen Disable Macros is fixed by the CWS scriptingf10. So, the behaviour
will be the
same as OOo 1.1 and StarOffice 7.

I am still seeing problems however with macros assigned to the OnLoad event
when the
user has chosen Disable Macros. If I open the attached signedmacro.odt from
the command
line ( ie. office path/program/soffice homedir/signedmacro.odt ) with an m74
build and
select Disable Macros the macro runs anyways.

A second problem, if I start soffice, then open signedmacro.odt and select
Disable Macros
the macro in this document does not get executed. However if I then open the
signedmacrotampered.odt macro, I get a warning that the document has been
tampered,
but when I click OK on the warning the macro in the tampered document gets run.

The problem is to be that the Scripting Framework is not able to find
a vnd.sun.star.tdoc URL for the embedded form, so it does not display it
in the selector dialog. This URL is needed by the framework to be able to
browse the embedded document for scripts.

Reassigning to KSO to find out why the following code does not return a
vnd.sun.star.tdoc URL for the embedded document:

// obtain XMultiComponentFactory object xFac

css::uno::Reference  com::sun::star::ucb::XSimpleFileAccess  xSFA(
xFac-createInstanceWithContext(
OUSTR(com.sun.star.ucb.SimpleFileAccess),
xCtx ), css::uno::UNO_QUERY );

if ( xSFA.is() )
{
result = xSFA-getFolderContents( OUSTR(vnd.sun.star.tdoc:/), true );
}

Note the embedded form is also not available by using the getComponents method
of the com.sun.star.frame.Desktop service

This is now fixed in the sdksample CWS. There should be an entry Scripting
Framework examples
in the examples.html file for the examples/DevelopersGuide section. There are
two examples
SayHello and ScriptSelector which include Makefiles and build.xml files.

Example scripts with build.xml and Makefile files for building with ant
and GNU make should be provided within the SDK instead of in OOo install.

The problem in this case is that the file in question is not writable,
so the user will not be able to save the contents of the window.

This could be handled in a number of ways:

1. Disable the Edit button in the Organizer if the source file is not
   writable. This would mean that the user could not view the script from
   within OOo

2. Enable the Edit button, and when the editor is open disable editing of
   the text area.

3. Leave the text area editable, but put ReadOnly in the title bar of the
   editor and disable the Save button

4. Change the error message to be more descriptive

I do not like option 1 because all of our examples are in the OOo Macros
area, so users would not be able to view other examples and copy from them.

Option 2 and 3 are a problem because this also affects the JavaScript
debugger which is very difficult to change reliably.

I think that Option 4 is the most practical option given resource
constraints, what do you think?

This is failing because the selector example in another.uno.pkg is out of
date. It uses the old drafts.com.sun.star.script namespace instead of the
new namespace com.sun.star.script

I am attaching a selector.uno.pkg which uses the correct namespace, it
should work fine.

I cannot reproduce this on Linux or Solaris running the capitalise script
repeatedly from either a toolbar item or from the Tools/Macro/Run Macro
dialog :( I have a couple of questions:

What are the exact steps that the test case is performing?
Can you reproduce this outside of the testtool by performing the same steps?
