Yes, you understand me correctly.
I myself don't know, what is cause, when OOo opens file in read-only, if the
path have UNC-view and contains direct reference to eDirectory object.
My first thought was about Novell_Client's trouble, but what about other
applications apart from OOo?

If my UNC-path is mapped as drive letter, all files are open by OOo normally.
That's so we are working now.
Š¯owever, document references trough drive letters are unsuitable sometimes(in
links or shortcuts for example). Drive letters may be changed and may be
different for other users in local network.
UNC-path was a my attempt for build universal reference to document.

Directory Map is a leaf object of Novell eDirectory.
Practically, it is a reference to some folder on Novell server volume.

The Novell Client (4.91_SP5 - is last version) is provide interface for use
directory maps in URLs with its short distingushed names (dotted notation)
I was show it in my example.

I think, the problem is that, the OpenOffice incorrectly processing URLs with
dotted notation or with . after \.

I can't build a same URL-path from my first example without eDirectory.
I was probe to create a folder with name begins from dot and have any dots in
name. And i was build a URL as UNC-path (Novell-server can share resources as
CIFS/SMB server) In result: files in dotted and next-level folders opens
normally in OpenOffice, the idea about dotted and . after \ maybe false.

But, if I'm have, for example, .doc of .xls file and same path from my first
exapmle (trough eDirectory), then Ms Word, Ms Excel is open files in all
next-level folders from Directory Map normally. I'm have same situation with
other file types and other associated applications. Only OpenOffice is open
files from next-level folders only in ReadOnly Mode.
Maybe the problem in which method of file-open OpenOffice use?

Document File is opened in Readonly mode and impossible for edit, if the path
assigned trough Novell Directory Map Object (Novell Client 4.91 SP5 installed)
and file is take place in more folder from root folder of Directory Map Object.
For example:
\\Cjt\.cjoit.um.mosexpo\FileDocument.odt
will be opended for edit successfully, but
\\Cjt\.cjoit.um.mosexpo\Name\FileDocument.odt
will be opened in Readonly mode and impossible for edit.
Other programs is open this and some more files in this path normally.
If we assign the path of this file with other method (Drive letter with path,
unc url, samba url etc) the file is opened for edit normally.
