This problem still persists. It does not happen each time, but at random.

The solution is to restart the computer or close soffice.bin from processes
running.

We mostly use CALC programme. At times when application is closed and we again
start any of openoffice application, they do not response at all. It may be
clicked any number of times.

Previously we were shutting down the computer and after restart everything
worked fine, which we found annoying.

Then we used ctrl+alt+del combination and found that soffice.bin and
soffice.exe processes running. When soffice.bin was deleted, we could again use
any of the applications.

We thought that this will be taken care of in 3.2.1, but same defect persists.

I have got PDF attachment, but how to send the same. Please guide

I am very happy with open office.

The only annoying defect is that it denies insertion of coloumns or rows in
between merged cells whereas EXCEL has no such problem

I have to un merge all the cells, insert the row/coloumn and again merge the
cells.

You can imagine the time needed where complex documents are made and there are
hundreds of meged cells.

Please do something

Thanks

with regards

Vijay

(Alt+=) key combination for Autosum Function should be made as found in Excel.
This is very useful key. You had previously made enhancement by adding (Ctrl+1)
as in Excels. Please also add this..

THIS PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS IN VERSION 3. OPEN THE ATTACHED FAILE FORMS.DBF
AND TRY TO SAVE WITH NEW NAME AND KEEPING THE SAME FORMAT. YOU CANNOT SAVE THE
FILE AND EEROR IS GENERATED. UPTO VERSION 2.31 EVERYTHING IS OK. I DON'T KNOW
WHY THE MAIL IS TOLD AS THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED, WHEN THE SAME WAS NEVER

THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO INSERT/DELETE ROWS/COLUMNS IN
BETWEEN MERGED CELLS. WHEN WE DESIGN SOME FORMAT IN WHICH NUMBER OF CELLS ARE
MERGED AND WE INTEND TO INSERT/DELETE ROW OR COLOUMN, WE NEED TO UNMERGE THE
CELLS FIRST AND THEN DO THE NEEDFUL, WHICH SOMETIMES TAKES LONG TIME TO DO SO.
THERE IS NO SUCH PROBLEM IN EXCEL.

Inserting row or column in between merged cells is not possible as error comes
that this operation is not possible in meged cells. This is very annoying as if
there are number of meged cells in many rows then we first need to un merge the
same and do the merging again after inserting the cell. There is no such
problem in EXCEL. Please improve in next coming release

when dbf file is opened and some change is made, version 2.4.0 reports error.
There was no such problem in earlier versions.
In help in EXPORT it is written that select the file format as DBf whereas the
same not present in File format dialogue box.
