I've tryied to replicate the bug on both my laptop (Windows XP with version
2.0.1 installed) and some Linux machine (RedHat with version 1.0.1 installed)

I've tried the following steps:
(1) Type in "hello world" right from beggining of the line
(2) highlight the two words
(3) paste it back to the same line (and other new lines)

However, it didn't seem to me that there has been a redundant white space
created in the new line.

I also tried such steps in OOffice.presentation, and no redundant white space
has been generated either.

May i suggest you re-install the current word processor on your machine, and
then try agian the copy-and-paste on it.

I've tryied to replicate the bug on both my laptop (Windows XP with version
2.0.1 installed) and some Linux machine (RedHat with version 1.0.1 installed)

I've tried the following steps:
(1) Open the file you gave
(2) Try to play around with how the cursor moves around lines

Even though i don't have Thai set up in my machine, i can clearly see the
abnormal movement of the cursor from the end to the middle rather than keeping
moving on the same vertical posiiton.

However, i have some observaiton based on my follow-up tests: in the same file
give from you, i wrote a new segment of texts in pure English and tried the sam
e steps as you suggested, and then the abnormal movement of cursor disappear!

I suspect that this problem maybe language-specific and happan for all other
non-English character set.

To me, it doesn't seem problematic because the abnormal movement of cursor after
all will not modify your text contents.

Are you using OOffice in English? If not, may i suggest you try installing Thai
version of OOffice.

I've tryied to replicate the bug on both my laptop (Windows XP with version
2.0.1 installed) and some Linux machine (RedHat with version 1.0.1 installed)

I've tried the following steps:
(1) Open the demo slide file as posted
(2) It is already in the normal view so i suppose it is the beginning state to
replicate the bug
(3) Finally i clicked on slide show button and compare with the snapshot you
gave

However, to me, it doesn't seem problematic or inconsistent. Neither when i copy
and paste a new slide. Since i'm using some 17" screen to replicate the bug, so
i suspect maybe the problem lies on the display rather than the program.

Some suggestion for you, feel free to take or ignore them: re-install the
current ooffice you had in your machine.

I've tryied to replicate the bug on both my laptop (Windows XP with version
2.0.1 installed) and some Linux machine (RedHat with version 1.0.1 installed)

I've tried the following steps that are done by tsealex, and it really
reproduces the bug.

Additionally, i have one observation for you to get around with the problem:
let's say now you have "hello world" and you want to insert a word "new" in
italics. The bug would appear if you turn on the italics when your cursor is
either immedaitely, i.e. without any white space, after "hello" or before
"world".

My workaround for you would be

(1)whenever you intend to turn the italics on, make sure that the current cursor
position is one white-space away from both the words before and after it,
(2)then turning the italics off after typing that new word would still preserve
its italics form.

And i also tried out this workaround for bold and underline, the also both work.

In case I misunderstood from your summary, could you be more specific regarding
in what sense you consider the column widths being inconsistent?

I've tryied to replicate the bug on both my laptop (Windows XP with version
2.0.1 installed) and some Linux machine (RedHat with version 1.0.1 installed)

I've tried the following steps:
(1) Open the demo files as posted
(2) Go to Table -> Table Properties
(2.1) I entered several values to play around

Here is my observation: we're supposed to give values to the column fields such
that they add up to the total table width(in the demo you gave, the total table
width is 17.0)

To me, it doesn't seem problematic or inconsistent. Maybe you can try to play
around with the values for fields more.

In case I misunderstood from your summary, could you be more specific regarding
in what sense you consider the column widths being inconsistent?
