If you manually insert or e.g. paste a document from a web browser that contains
externally linked images, OOo freezes until all the images are loaded. If the
document is saved and reopened, it redownloads images. The problem is, if you're
disconnected from the net. You have to wait for quite a while then for the
timeout to occur and OOo doesn't react at all.

Is there a way OOo could load external images in separated threads?

Using OOo2.0.1-2 under Debian unstable.

Another, a bit newever version of the document:
http://193.95.242.3/tmp/OTI-vaje2.odt

First, the document is blinking all the time and second print-preview crashes
OOo (or maybe you have to wait for 10 minutes+). Using OOo2.0.1-2 under Debian
unstable.

I was editing my document (school notes) using OOo 2.0, specifically, changing
the width of the fields of a table (setting them to optimal width, finalising
some stuff). Then OOo started to blink (formatting and wasn't able to layout
something properly?) more and more frequently. It annoyed me, so I closed the
session and reopened the document.

If opened in OOo 2.0, it freezes after the document is opened. I also installed
2.0.1 then and it crashes immediately upon opening the document. I marked as P1
because there is data loss around (I have a few days old copy though, so nothing
serious on my side).

Using openoffice.org-2.0.0-5 from Debian unstable and then
openoffice.org-2.0.1-1 from Debian experimantal.

The document can be obtained at http://193.95.242.3/tmp/OTI-vaje.odt .

Debian experimental's OOo 2.0.1 crashes when opening some other documents too,
so the crash is not related to this document only. But I still cannot open the
document in 2.0. Can anyone else confirm this?

I found out that waiting for a few minutes, OOo starts to respond. So it
actually works, but the formatting (am I thinking correct?) takes so much time,
especially when only clicking on a graph placed on a first page (which should be
at the end somewhere).

I remember switching from print-web layout and then back to print. Maybe this
is the case?

The above testcase is an example of the error I have in mind.

If you switch to web-layout, the rectangle has a correct Y-offset according to
its anchor. But in Print layout, the object never exceeds the first page. There
is no way to move the rectangle to the second page and anchor it to the
paragraph on the previous page.

1) Start a new text document
2) Write 90% of the page
3) In the end, after the last paragraph, insert some new lines, but no paragraph
(shift+enter) and proceed with that to the next page
4) Draw a larger rectangle (or other vector graphics), so it doesn't fit on the
first page
5) Try to fit it to the last paragraph, but on the next page
  - You can't: The rectangle is always fit to the first page no matter what.
The bottom border of the rectangle is the page bottom (and the half of rectangle
is cut-off because it's not in the printable area).

A known issue?

Using OOo2.0 on PC running Debian unstable (sid).

I'm writing down my school notes using stable OOo2.0 on Debian. Take a look at
my document:
http://193.95.242.3/tmp/APS-I-zapiski.odt

As you can see, the document consists of many drawings, paragraph styles,
formulas and tables. If this were a few pages long document, OOo handled it
fine. But when document became 20+ pages long, I began experiencing some *very*
critical issues:
1) Having OOo session opened for more than 3 hours and editing the document,
copyingpasting from draw component etc. usually results in crash (memory leak?)
2) Some of the vector drawings (arrows, rectangles, drawn in OOo Draw component)
randomly loose vertical positions. They look anchored at the correct paragraph,
but the Y offset is completely messed up (eg. they appear on a 2000th page, or
at the beginning of the document?!?)
3) Switching from web layout - page view also results in unexpected behaviours.
Elements randomly loose their Y offset (rerendering of the document?).
4) When you load the document, it's imperative to wait for 30 or so seconds, go
slowly from top to the bottom of the document so the OOo aligns things as they
should be (and some are not!) and only then proceed to the end of the docuemnt
and start writing. Shouldn't the complete layout be calculated and stable when
you open the document? Now, if you don't follow the rules I mentioned, you get
elements randomly loosing their anchors and jumping up and down.
5) When undoing in the mentioned document, every undo becomes composited of 5 or
so steps. One of them is your actual action. The other four are the new
automatic alignmnents of the drawings that jump from a for me unrelated random
page to another unrelated place. This appears no matter where I'm making the
document change. (maybe some elements are at the end of the document and I don't
see them and they're related somehow?)
6) Today, OOo2 crashed when I wanted to save my document and the recovery
program was only able to recover the original document (this resulted in a 30
minutes of lost data!). I really don't know why the AutoSaveRecovery function
isn't enabled by default in the configuration. It's obvious that OOo2 isn't
stable enough IMO for this option being turned off.

All of the issues are very obvious in the document I'm reffering to. I'm
personally really dissapointed about these issues: I was using OOo1.1beta 3
years ago with similar document complexity and I was encountering the same bugs.
This points out that the internal formattingtypesetting code wasn't touched a
bit for so much time... and it's obvious that it needs fixing, if not a complete
rewrite. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I write down stuff at university in OOo and one of the issues I encountered was
that sometimes objects (usually vector drawings made in OOo Draw) loose their
offset.

A good example is at:
http://193.95.242.3/tmp/APS-I-zapiski.odt

You can see a diagram how the stack works at the ruller position X=20063 and
Y=999, where ruller measure is centimeter I think. Well, the diagram should be
under the Implementacija z enosmernim seznamom under major heading ADT sklad
(eng. Stack). I believe the document is saved fine (you can see the anchor is
correctly placed). The bug only appears in positioning, formating and rendering
the object at the correct position or something.

This is not the first time I'm seeing this kind of an issue (and these issues
with randomly objects loosing position is present until at least OOo1.1 beta) so
I think there must be a bug.

Using stable OOo2.0 under Debian.

When setting frame background to transparent, it's still white. It's a very
nasty bug, because it breaks the look of the eg. Word document, if it has a
transparent frame and there is something behind it.

Oops, sorry. I thought No fill means transparency to 100%, but it probably
just means the default common background color for objects. So the transparent
color should be #0 or something then, but with transparency to 100%,
right?
